Meet Ariel Ghinga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariel Ghinga.

Ariel, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I had a bad experience in Geography class when I was in high school. I was about to do a presentation on Columbia, but I couldn’t say a word. I left the poster up there and sat back down with my heart beating out of my chest. I made a promise right then and there that someday I’m was going to start a business which helps people overcome the fear of public speaking and learn how to present effectively. In 2012, I made good on that promise when I started Atlanta Public Speaking LLC. Since then, I’ve had the good fortune of coaching hundreds of entrepreneurs, executives and employees from all walks of life.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, my first year in the business, I almost quit. I made very little money. I made about $1,000 that first year in business. But when I joined a mastermind, things started to pick up, and I was eventually able to turn this into a full time business.

Please tell us about your business.
Atlanta Public Speaking is committed to helping Entrepreneurs and Executives speak better and sell more. We achieve this by facilitating innovative programs with the resolute focus of providing results, not just information. I am known for inventing what I call a “Speech Map” for public speaking, which allows presenters to create to free flow their talk while also having a structure, so they stay on their message. Everyone who has tried it said it’s a very useful approach and they no longer have to write out their presentations.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is a preparation meeting opportunity.
