Meet Arieyuonna Vincent of BeYOUtiful By Arie in Kennesaw

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arieyuonna Vincent.

Arieyuonna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a child, I had very low self-esteem, especially when it came to my hair. I would often feel self-conscious and feared what people thought about my hair. My family would always tell me, “Arie, you’re beautiful no matter what anyone says,” but I wasn’t receptive of it because I didn’t believe it myself. The summer before college, my godmother convinced me to cut my hair off since I was off to a new start. I finally gave in and made one of the best decisions in my life.

I started BeYOUtiful By Arie because I wanted other women and young girls to feel empowered to be their true authentic selves. My freshman year in college, I had very little financial support, so I used my talents and started braiding hair. This evolved into me staring my own lipgloss line and precision combs. Currently, I offer nine different glosses to choose from made with all-natural oils. I believe that you make the style, and the style doesn’t make you. “Whatever you feel is beautiful to you is valid because that’s exactly who you are. Remember, you have permission to be unapologetically YOU.

Has it been a smooth road?
This was not an easy road. In the beginning, I was lost and so many traumatic things kept occurring in my life. I come from a very rough area, so I didn’t even believe I could make it thus far. But God was there with me every step of the way. I always knew that he had more for my life rather than the situations at hand. It took for me to experience these things to use it to help inspire and encourage others to reach their fullest potential. I believe that my life isn’t my own, and I am here to lead by serving others.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I believe what sets me apart from others is that I did not allow circumstances to deter me from starting my own business and achieving my goals. Also, my ability to connect with various groups of people. I am most proud to offer quality products that anyone can benefit from.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe that this is a good area for minorities to thrive through any creative platform.
