Arkeedah is an Atlanta based Style and Beauty Expert + Editor-in-chief of ItsArkeedah.com.
ItsArkeedah.com provides daily doses of what’s chic, trendy, what’s haute and what’s not in the world of fashion. With a penchant for all things fabulous, Arkeedah set out to give her readers a fresh take on fashion news and stories, along with spotlights on boutique owners, magazine scans, fashion show reviews, hair product endorsements, trend forecasts, wardrobe advice, celebrity looks for less, and tips on how to stay ahead of the trends.
Arkeedah has collaborated with numerous brands, including: Belk, Best Buy, Carol’s Daughter, Dark and Lovely, Design Essentials, Dillards, Dior, Dove, Famous Footwear, Ford Motor Company, GAP, Johnson’s Products, Krispy Kreme, Kiss Products, Lincoln Motor Company, Mizani, NYC New York Color Cosmetics, Rockport, Toyota, Walmart and Wendy’s.
Conducted interviews with Jordin Sparks, Kevin Costner, Octavia Spencer, Chadwick Boseman, Brandon T. In 2014, Arkeedah expanded her brand by creating Chick Auto Tips – a resource for women that highlight useful car tips, reviews and articles.
Has it been a smooth road?
When starting in 2009 it was difficult because no one knew what a blogger was, so getting access to events, interviews etc a challenge I got a lot of No’s or no responses but I didn’t let that stop me I kept working and more opportunities started to be offered. My first big interview was in 2011 with Chili from TLC and then that’s when everything started to kick off for me.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with It’s Arkeedah – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a blogger/style expert and new podcast host. In 2013 I released my first book How to Start A Blog: 10 Essential Steps You Need To Know to help individuals that are interested in starting a blog and to follow up in 2015 I released my second book Blogger Rulebook this handbook focuses on the documents you need to have in place in order to successfully run your blog as a business and other vital tips. Both are available on Amazon.com, What sets me apart is my unique/vintage style and funny personality.
Lastly, in 2017 I started my podcast called The Awkward Girl Podventures and I cover everything from financial tips to dating in Atlanta. It’s available on iTunes, google play, Spotify and podomatic
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the growth — being an Atlanta native I’ve seen the city transform — the new stadiums, the music and television scene. The least I would have to say sometimes Atlanta can get the perception of being fake
