Today we’d like to introduce you to Arman Hudson.
Arman, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I have a family history of music. My dad, brother, cousins and grandfather are all musically talented. Growing up in the surrounding sparked my passion for music early on. I began my search for my calling in the industry. I tried playing violin, guitar and singing. Then God brought me to lyricism and songwriting. I have always been in love with rap music, RnB music and lyrical and soulful music genres. It interested me how powerful words are to be able to evoke emotions out of people and I took to it fairly quick. I am still learning more and more everyday and I am even trying my hand at music production.
By studying artist like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and Drake and other lyrical artist, I have developed an evolving style of my own that has a purpose and a message with the words I write and perform. The journey to becoming the artist I want to be has taught me more about myself than I could have learned without music and I believe God gave me this gift to spread relatable messages of what I am going through for others who are having similar issues, setbacks or success as I am. Otherwise, what is the point of music if not to tell a story that people need to hear.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. When your exploring your true calling, there will always be setbacks. I have struggled at times wondering if this is truly for me and every time I push forward and I find why I am doing this and my passion exponentially increases. When your trying to master your craft it takes to and effort to be your best self at it. I often wonder if it is taking me longer to learn what I need to, but it is a process and everybody’s process is different. I believe the trials I go through are just God preparing me for when I make it where I am trying to get to. If I were to make it now, I do not think the success would last because I am just not ready. I have to work on putting everything I have into my music and then some. I am also struggling and coming to terms that to truly be successful in the industry, I have to do more than just make music. It takes time to get out and talk with people and make connections with those who can help elevate you and motivate you. When I am not on the stage, I love my personal space and keeping to myself. That has to change if I truly want success. The road to get to my goals may not be smooth, but as time passes it continues to smooth out more.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I brand myself as a lyricist and songwriter instead of a rapper because anybody can be a rapper and rhyme words over an amazing beat. Not many people can stimulate people’s minds and give them music that is truly thoughtful and soulful. I am most proud of the fact that what sets me apart from other lyricist is that my music can be played anywhere at anytime because I do not curse or have vulgar lyrics in music and I still manage to bring the best quality in my music without referring to the usual drugs, money and women that many songs have now. My music is inspirational, fun and original. It has real depth to it lyrically and even in the instrumentation. My music cannot be labeled under just one genre because I try to mix elements of all genres in my music to keep it fresh. I tend to just call it Good music and use that as a genre because everybody can recognize real, true, good music when they hear it and that is what I like to say can be said about my music.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
My professionalism and compassion is going to get my far in the industry. I have been taught through my family telling me and personal experiences that being professional and respectful can be the deciding factor of you being next up for greatness or the next best artist taking that spot. I am also trying to get to the point where I am fully and totaling giving my all to be successful but not just so I can be a star because ultimately, my music should not be just for me. I am doing it for a higher purpose. I am letting the Lord use my words and my presence to reach the world with messages that will inspire hope in people and not just repeat a cycle of addiction and vices, Above all of my characteristics, the one that will attribute to my success the most is knowing that I am doing this for God and not myself.

The first time I heard this young man, I was totally amazed. He has always been rather quiet! But his music s’speaks volumes and he has grown and gotten even better.
