Today we’d like to introduce you to Arthur Barnes Jr.
Arthur, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It began when I was younger before I even started middle school I’ve always been interested in clothes. And Styling I pretty much give skateboarding and music props for my interests. Every morning I would wake up early and watch MTV watching music videos admiring how the clothes went on with the vibe of the videos. Later on I really started studying how these pieces I’ve been fascinated about are made. Still to this day I’ll look on the internet and Fashion shows for different tips and ways on how I can do my own spin on clothes I wanted to make and now I’m doing it. I’ve been taking “fit pics” on Instagram since I could remember not necessarily thinking years later, I would be considered a “model” while doing it now. But it’s very much appreciated though the more titles add on to my name, I feel more to inspiration added on to do something that can change more around me. I would consider myself a stylist, designer, and influencer if I could.
Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing has been very smooth or easy for me in life or on this road. But some struggles I guess you could say we’re lack of inspiration at times and rarely any support.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
My upcoming attire “Made With Feeling” really just was an ideal experiment I’ve been thinking about when I was in 9th grade. Two years later I started putting my plan to action with look books, Websites being created, and actually getting a hand in behind the scenes with designing. That will be dropping at the end of the winter.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like the culture and kind of the smallness about the city. You have real friends that show practical support no matter what. Culturally people are very different, that helps others with different ideas about everything. I can’t really say anything I like least about it except for fake love between some, but you can find that in any city around the world.
