Today we’d like to introduce you to Arubianna Mobley.
Arubianna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my first business “Highborn clothing” in my bedroom when I was 15. We were making sales international until we wanted to rebrand and find us a headquarters. That plan was pushed back when I became homeless. However I continued to save and work hard to relaunch this brand. I created a second business “Highborn graphics and designs” to help hustle the money for my first company. I was able to partner with a management company and started seeing a large number of clients come through. Now I’m making enough to plan our launch in may as well as buy a new house. I am preparing for college as well and I plan to have both companies completely settled. I have been through many struggles to get these two companies off the ground and I’m only 17.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Most definitely have not been smooth. I have been and sort of still am homeless. I have had to shut my clothing brand down because of the pandemic. I was even scammed for my money trying to buy a website for it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Highborn customs and designs is a graphic design company started this 2020. We specialize in bringing our customer’s imagination to life. All though we create a wide range of graphics, we are well known for our websites and logos. Our brand is different because we use our creative minds and great customer service to imagine and create what our customers are imagining for their business. We don’t just stop there. We even set up analytics that will help drive your start-up company through the roof. We want to maximize you and your company’s potential. Highborn clothing is a homemade clothing brand. Every design created is made in house. We create a wide range of clothing such as pants, shirts, hoodies, hats, and accessories for both men and women. We even have our own cosmetics line and we are still growing In product numbers. We are different then any other brand because we operate considering diversity. We want all sizes, all races, and all genders to feel comfortable and confident in our products to wear. We also hold giveaways every month to give back to our supporters and community. We give many opportunities for our supporters to participate in photoshoot and brand deals. We want everyone to feel welcome to all Styles alike.
What were you like growing up?
I am originally from Florida. I moved to Atlanta when I was about nine or ten. Growing up I didn’t hang around kids. Not as a home issue or anything I just was really close with my mom, who was all about business. We went everywhere together and did everything together. She was and still is my best friend so of course I chose to sit at her desk helping her with business work instead of running outside and playing with dirt. Don’t get me wrong, I did every now and then but pretending to be a part of a meeting was more fun to me. I was always that weird kid. If I wasn’t with my mom, I was with my nana, learning how to build and design buildings. Between her and my mom, I developed a strong personality and a creative, vivid mind. So getting older, my mom taught me everything I needed to know about a business. She always said “why work for someone else to make minimum wage when you can own your own business and become rich.”
