Ashae’, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ashae’ Candle Co. was born in my small kitchen in 2017, from the thought and the desire to create vegan, sustainable, and deliciously fragranced candles. I remember as a working mother in the medical field, I always wanted to create an ambiance in my space with BBW candles. I later decided to go with a more sustainable option instead by creating my own candle so that I could relax without burning toxicity in my space, all while feeling inspired. I wanted to add a luxurious and sustainable product to the space of other working women whose self-care is their #1 priority. For the women who give from their heart every single day, whether in their career or to their families. And that I did.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Getting to where I am now has definitely not been a smooth road. There were many long nights and tears shed along the way. When I first started out, I was very uncertain and had a lack of knowledge about this business, but chose to take a leap of faith anyway. My heart desired to figure things out. There were many things that made me want to quit but I stayed down and taught myself how to perfect my craft through trial and error and a little more about the business. I refused to let go of my vision. I wanted so badly to see people’s amazing reactions to what I had created for them. Confident that I had finally created the perfect candles, I launched my deliciously fragranced, vegan, soy candles. It is because of Ashae’ Candle Co. that I have grown and matured so much, and is the reason why I have learned to manage my money better lol. My business is my baby, my therapy, and I give it my heart every single day.

Ashae’ Candle Co. is an all natural, vegan, cruelty-free candle company in Richmond, VA. We make dreamy, luxurious, soy wax candles with a minimalist twist, that are inspired by luxury and self-care therapy, with the intent to intrigue the senses, stir the emotions, and inspire. Our candles are hand-poured in our small kitchen and are made with genuine love and precision. Our candles are made with phthalate-free fragrance oils, essential oils, zinc and lead-free eco wicks, and 100% natural soy wax. We are proud of our dedication to the company and how people react to our products and the warm smiles that we put on our customers faces.
