Hi Ashawna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I got started on my business out of desperation. I had recently transferred to Atlanta for a better career opportunity, however, after arriving- things didn’t quite work out the way I’d planned. Ultimately I had to do something to avoid being homeless. I was living off of my savings and needed income fast!
The first thing I did was secure a notary license. After sharing my processes online, dozens of people began reaching out asking for my assistance on helping them do the same. One thing led to another and I decided to make consulting my business.
I formed my company, AshawnaLane, LLC as a way to help other entrepreneurs take the right steps to becoming business owners. I help them file the necessary paperwork in their respective states, as well as mentor them through the process. To date, I’ve helped over three dozen entrepreneurs become business owners.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road hasn’t been smooth but it hasn’t been entirely difficult either. I’m a firm believer that “hard” and “easy” are constructs in our mind and we decide which road we’ll take. Our thoughts will determine what’s hard or easy for us. I can honestly say that because my mind was so focused on succeeding, the difficulties, the struggles, the obstacles and the challenges I faced didn’t deter me from continuing on my journey.

I run a consulting company aimed at assisting entrepreneurs with business startups. I help them file their paperwork within their respective states and mentor them throughout the process.
By taking the necessary steps to achieve my own business, I understand the challenges and oftentimes the discouragement that comes from following the dream of business ownership.
By providing hands-on experience and expertise, I offer a more tailored approach to entrepreneurs looking for ways to not only form their business but to grow and scale it as well.

Belief is the first step to anything you do. Whether it’s entrepreneurship, ownership or anything else, you first have to believe you can do it.
Once you believe in yourself, the hard part is over and success is nearby.
