Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlee Roper.
Ashlee, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Just a small town chick that believed she could, so she did! I grew up in Effingham County (a small town on the outskirts of Savannah, GA). I’ve always had a passion for doing hair. My friends and family would always let me do their hair, and as a teen, I would have people come to my house to get their hair done. I moved to the city of Atlanta to pursue my dreams. I attended Empire Beauty school, graduated, and received my cosmetology license. I am the proud owner of LashedbyAshhh & Beauty. I have had features in HotLanta Hair magazine. My work has also been featured on Love ‘ Hip Hop Atlanta. I have had the pleasure of working behind the scenes in numerous filmings, video-shoots, fashion shows, etc.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing comes easy. There have been many obstacles that I have overcome along the way to my success. Building my clientele was an obstacle that was thrown at me. I was hungry for success, I would pass out business cards, promote, advertise, etc. Now, eight years later… I am beyond blessed!
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
As a healthy hair care professional, I specialize in Healthy hair. I also sale mink & synthetic eyelashes. I am proud of the goals that have been achieved thus far. I am not only a professional stylist, but I love what I do. And it shows tremendously!!!
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I come from a praying family. During good times, during bad times… I PRAY! Thank God for everything that he has done and what he continues to do for me daily.
