Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley “Ali J” Williams.
Ashley “Ali J” Williams graduated from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida with a B.A./B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and in Spanish. She is also a certified Life Coach. She has worked with some of Hollywood’s well-known producers and directors and has worked on several productions filmed in Atlanta, GA and New York City, NY. She has been featured in both regional and nationwide commercials as well as co-hosted on several programs.
While pursuing her career in the TV and Film industry, Ashley realized that not only does she want to succeed in her career’s journey but that she wanted to help other underground entertainers as well. Noticing that a lot of independent entertainers needed exposure and business know-how, Ashley began to write down ideas of how she could help other independent entertainers. Then it hit her like a lightning bolt. Create a talk show that features underground entertainers and discusses how to navigate the entertainment industry. The Inde Life Talk Show was then born.
Whether it’s behind the scenes or in front of the camera, Ashley definitely has the experience, whit, and heart to make any production come to life. Her love for helping underground entertainers is exceptional and her passion for TV and Film is unparalleled.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
“Do smooth roads actually exist? Lol, I’m very grateful for all that I’ve accomplished but it wasn’t easy. The entertainment industry is very fickle. There are ups and downs but I always try to stay positive. Instead of dwelling on what’s going wrong, I immediately begin to think of how to either fix the problem or how to navigate around it. One of many mantras is “It’s always something, now how can I keep moving.”
When I first began to move forward with producing The Inde Life Talk Show, I needed a camera crew. The first camera crew I hired threw me for a loop. Thousands of dollars were spent and I couldn’t even get the edited footage from the taping until two months later. I mean this was a company I thought was pretty reputable until I reached out to other producers and directors who told me they had had similar issues with that company. Tons of life lessons were learned in that period of time but the biggest lesson I learned was to really be careful of who I allow joining my vision. I realized you have to protect your vision and execution.
Please tell us about The Inde Life.
The Inde Life Talk Show is THE TALK SHOW for independent entertainers. The show features performances by underground entertainers, remarkable discussions, moments of inspiration, and plenty more. A unique theme is tied to each episode and is interwoven throughout the show. Non-entertainers are given the opportunity to discover underground musicians, actors, filmmakers, comedians, social media sensations, and other artists who are breaking down barriers and navigating their way in the industry. What sets The Inde Life apart from other talk shows is the simple fact that this show is a show of purpose. The purpose of the Inde Life is to create some sort of community amongst independent entertainers, provide business know-how, and of course, to give artists exposure, all in a fun and entertaining way.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
From the tender age of five, I recall coming home from a movie, I literally just saw and re-creating certain scenes, dressing up in costume, and performing in front of my busy mother, who was usually running around the house, and in front of my dolls. I knew from a small age that my destiny was in television and film.
