Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Ashanté.
Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It was the summer of 2016 and college just ended for the Spring semester. I was 20 years old looking for a job to work that summer to make sure I can pay my bills. I got a job working at Family Dollar, barely making enough money, that’s when I knew there was something out there better for me. I would always hate going to work. I always knew that I wanted to be my own boss.
The whole summer I worked there I put aside money from ALL my checks for my lash training course. (I’m a firm believer that if you want something you have to go get it) No one helped me with anything! No one believed I could do it. I wanted to prove so many people wrong. I sacrificed a lot of long nights and early mornings just to make my dream of being an entrepreneur come true. I promised myself better and never looked back.
From there I was able to start my two businesses @BeautyJunkie.Studio and @MinxLashCo. I was able to buy myself my first car and I was also able to pay my bills.
So YES the best thing I could have ever done was BELIEVE in God and BELIEVE in myself. NEVER DOUBT YOURSELF!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it was not a smooth road. Some of the struggles were finding a location for my business, good vendors, and finding a good team.
Please tell us about Beauty Junkie Studio.
Beauty Junkie Studio was designed with the idea of wanting to make every woman feel they’re most beautiful. Beauty Junkie Studio is a modernistic beauty salon located in Atlanta, GA, specializing in natural looking lashes, brows, and all things beauty.
What sets Beauty Junkie apart from others is our exceptional customer service and our quality work that we provide, I am very proud with the direction that Beauty Junkie has gone, with the high returning clients and the people who has referred others to Beauty Junkie as well.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be the first time I went to Boca Raton, Florida. My family and I spent a whole week down there going to different amusement parks and water parks. I had an amazing week down there when I was younger.
