Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Devine and Jasmine Torrence.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Dream Anchors was a vision intended for the purposes of mentoring but sprouted into tutoring. I, Ashley, have been in the field of Education for over five years and I am extremely passionate about the mental and emotional state of children. One day, I was just sitting in my bed, reading, and I had this extreme urge to start a mentoring program. I never had the desire to do it, but something in me felt led inwardly to bring Dream Anchors to fruition. So, I applied for my LLC about two years ago but never made a move due to fear of failure.
One day Jasmine and I were having a conversation and I casually asked her did she want to be apart of something great. She laughed and said, “yeah! what are we doing?!” When I told her my desire to start a tutoring program with the intent to branch into a mentoring program, she was on board and has been dedicated and committed to what is now our vision. Although her background is business, she is passionate about education and children as well and has helped push me to bring the vision of Dream Anchors to life and is journeying it with passion and grace.
Has it been a smooth road?
It has definitely NOT been a smooth road. Even now, Jasmine and I spend countless hours figuring things out, getting advice from mentors, and trying to make sure we uphold the vision of Dream Anchors, I think for us, working full time and giving full commitment to our brand is something we would say is the biggest struggle.

We are a newly established tutoring company in the Central Savannah River Area of Georgia. Our target audience is K-12 math, science, language arts, and social studies. We offer a variety of services, but the ones that set us apart from most traditional services are our project-based services and academic coaching. Project-based tutoring focuses on specialized projects given by the students’ teachers such as science fair projects. Academic coaching helps students who are struggling in 2 or more content areas, using one-on-one tutoring and an academic online software to help increase student performance and monitor growth.
The best part of Dream Anchors Tutoring Co. is that everything we do, we think of how it best benefits the students we are tutoring, We want students to know that we are here to help academically but to also be encouraged and know that their dream can become their reality!
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
The city of Augusta is a hidden gem with high needs in areas such as tutoring services. I would definitely recommend someone to start out here because the possibilities are endless. We believe anyone can start here and go anywhere.
