Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Miller.
Hi Ashley, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
So I’ve always been a go-getter as they call it. I started working my first job at the age of 15. I was a sophomore in High School. Since then, I’ve always tried to keep a job of some sort. My main focus is to invest in my ideas; to achieve any short or long-term goals I make for myself. I got here by using my earnings to invest into myself and my brand.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ha! Absolutely NOT! Actually, there has been SEVERAL bumps in the road. One thing I’ve struggled with to maintain my brand and image was TIME.
Believe it or not, I was not as good with time management when I lived back home in New Orleans. I was always busy working or something related to my company in order to generate some form of income for myself. I stayed busy.
Another issue I had was technical issues. I got a MacBook Pro in 2009 and was using it from 09’-2016. Until the poor computer just could not take anymore, LOL. You can imagine the countless issues I had. There was school work stored on there from college, music files from my personal studio recordings, photos, videos, galore. Memory board was on overload LMBO! I would always be delayed on getting clients their work because I’d run into computer issues. It would frustrate me so bad I just wanted to give up on my photos.
The technical issues I had resulted to me constantly working to maintain my computer’s health etc. I needed income in order to keep going. So my time was down to none.
I can recall my family saying Ashley, you’re either at work, school, or a photoshoot, you need to slow down. I couldn’t. It actually drove me into depression where nothing I did was working out for me. And that’s when sheWiRKiN was born. I knew I had to push through it all.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well… I am what I consider a mediographer/artist I do a plentyyy. Lol, I am known for my music and photography. But I can do just about anything dealing with design, graphics, web building, videography, the list goes on.
I do have a website for my company—AAMP Kodachrome LLC. With a number of services I offer. There is also a page with a portfolio of my work, all of it LoL. (my merchandise, photos, music, etc.)
I specialize in visual and digital creations. Most proud of being self-taught on most of my gifts.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Yes! Risk taking is extremely important for advancing yourself and your career or brand—period. I’ve taking soooo many. I can talk to you all day long about some of them.
But my biggest risk thus far has been my shift from Nola to Dallas. It’s funny because I’ve always wanted to live in Atlanta. But I am starting fresh here in Texas and it has truly taught me sooo much. I appreciate the growth in this risk. It was so necessary and so worth it.
Redefining yourself and having to do everything yourself for yourself — it’s so much more peaceful and rewarding for me. I’ve always been independent since a child. This has allowed me to get more in tune with my inner self and my inner youth.
