Meet Ashley Renee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Renee.

Ashley, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started doing makeup because my mom was in need of a makeup artist for her shows. I’ve always enjoyed makeup and would go get it done at a boutique here in Atlanta. I just never thought I could be a makeup artist. I began practicing every day and it just became natural for me. Like I was born to do this. I now do makeup for music videos, TV, weddings and casual day to day wear. I also hold makeup classes.

Has it been a smooth road?
Makeup has been one of the easiest things I have done in my life. It has been so organic since I started as if I was born to do this. It took me 30 years to figure out I could do makeup but better late than never. Some of the struggles I have experienced is that this market is saturated. There is a lot of makeup artist so you really have to stand out and promote yourself.

Makeup by AshRenee specializes in skincare and correct makeup wear. I aim to teach people that makeup is just an enhancement to your natural beauty. I hope to uplift someone’s self-esteem and help them to see the beauty that they already possess. I am most proud of the ability to have this gift and be able to share it with the world.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the diversity in Atlanta. There are so many people here you are bound to meet someone that shares the same energy as you. There is always something to do. The bad part about Atlanta is the traffic. I believe everyone can agree on that
