Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Robinson.
Ashley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a 30-year-old young entrepreneur who started this business in 2013 when I was younger and uncapable of really running a business. I never believed I could start let alone own my business. I was afraid of failure and so I chose to drop it. Years later I started it back up June 22nd 2019 to be exact. With the help of my best friend Camille and of course lots of research I started my business. Still scared and unsure of where life will take me but I let go of the fear and let God have his way with me. The fear of not knowing, the fear of failure, the fear of being scared. After my little brother Richard passed last year September 27th 5 days after his birthday, I started to give up again but not just on my business on life period. I went into a deep depression mad at God and just upset with the losers that hurt my brother. And then I spoke to my mother and my best friends and they helped get me back on track. I now talk to God more, read my Bible every day, and I talk to my brothers spirit every day. And I’m back and better than I’ve ever been. God is amazing and I’m a living testimony. So, I ask myself everyday what if losing was the quickest way to win? Because of my heart ache, because of my failures, because of my disappointments in life I’m now winning. This is not a side hustle for me this is my brand and I vow to build it up to become the first millionaire in my family so I can take care of them. This is my life and I welcome you to Xotic Minks.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Hmmmm not at all. This has definitely been one of my toughest challenges in life. People on social media will make you think entrepreneur life is easy peasy…. but it’s not. It’s a lot of hard work, long sleepless nights, lots of thinking and research. Some of my struggles starting out was keeping up with research, finding a good trustworthy vendor, building my audience and getting them to trust me and shop with my brand. I’m building my brand from the ground up no handouts. I work 8-5 six days a week as a pediatric medical assistant, then to get off come home and put hours into my own business…. let’s just say it’s very tiring but will be very rewarding in the end.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Xotic Minks – what should we know?
I sell top of the line quality mink lashes; I also apply them for my ladies that have trouble getting them on lol. Most people see the name of my business and think, oh she just selling minks, but we have so much more that we’re working on. I would tell you but I rather show you all instead lol. What I can say is soon we will be taking appointments for individual mink lashes as well. I would have to say I’m most proud of how I interact with my customers. I pride myself on superior customer service and fast shipping. Xotic minks is a brand that speaks for itself. Its many out here selling lashes, and doing what I do but no one is doing it how I’m doing it. For most selling lashes is a quick come up, a little side hustle to make a little change and I’m not knocking no one’s hustle but as for xotic minks it’s not just about the money it’s about building a brand that ladies could love and can’t live without.

First and foremost God gets all the praise and glory. I wouldn’t be the woman I am today running a successful business without keeping god first. My biggest supporters are of course my family. My mother Monique Ingraham, my little sister Roshonda Byrd, my Bestie who is more like the big sister I’ve never had Camille Walsh( Ceo of cshairstudio), my big cousin Ashley (Ceo of liv_love_plaits) and a whole host of other cousins, and friends that not only reposted but purchased or referred my business to others. Anybody knows me know I loveeeee me some supa cent, I look up to supa cent she is my motivation to keep growing and glowing. She shows me that no matter who or what are against you, you can still come out on top. Thank god for my strong loving supportive man Jarrett Jones he has been my rock through it all as well.
