Meet Ashley Soul

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Soul.

Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story starts with me being curious about how to make beats. I started my journey as a music producer in 2017. At the time, I was juggling different hobbies like dance, photography, singing, etc but eventually, I decided to solely focus on music production. Although I did not know much about how to operate the software (Fl Studio), I began doing research on youtube and surrounding myself around other music producers who taught me the basics. I got to where I am today by focusing on growing my audience, being patient, and staying consistent.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My career as a producer has had its ups and downs for the most part. It takes a lot of dedication to keep going even though you may or may not see results. Some challenges I’ve had as a music producer throughout the years are: finding resources to get my beats to artists, selling beats online, or being in the right headspace to create. At times I would go days or weeks without making music. As the years have gone by, I’ve learned that everything is a balance, networking is important, and forcing the creative process instead slows me down. Sometimes it’s okay to take a step back and redevelop a plan for yourself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a music producer/creative that specializes in making Rnb, trap, hyperpop, drill, pluggnb, and rage beats. I started off making Rnb but eventually, I decided to branch out and become versatile with my music. Besides the fact that I am a woman who makes beats, I am also known for showing my talent on social media. At times I show my audience the process of making a beat from scratch or I simply post type beat videos. I am most proud of the placements I’ve gotten this year. Working with artists like Starg4a, 10kdunkin, babyfifty, bayswag, lougotcash, etc. I have sold a couple of exclusive beats and my music production skills have improved as well. I am happy to now be a part of a producer collective known as “ATM” (All That Matters | @wherestheatmat on Instagram). Shoutout to Tay (@calluptay) for inviting me to be a part of this space full of talented and wholesome producers.
