Meet Ashley Tindall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Tindall.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I have always been an outdoor enthusiast, but in college I started experimenting with using nature as inspiration for my design work. I learned the more I related design to the things that I loved the most, the better my design would become. Those designs began to reflect me as an artist and tell a story of who I was in that design moment.

For example, using the analog method, I am able to incorporate nature through colors, textures and materials. This brings my design alive and gives the design personality.

Please tell us about your art.
Most of my design work consists of signage for a nonprofit called The Southeastern Climber’s Coalition located in Chattanooga, TN, but I also work closely with a local jewelry artist in Atlanta known as Mark Edge to help market and promote his brand.

Designing for the SCC is my way of giving back to the industry that I love. We are so lucky to have accessible climbing, hiking and other outdoor opportunities so close to the city, so I never hesitate to volunteer my time when I can. I hope my designs excite others to become more involved in the outdoor industry and help support local artists.

Choosing a creative or artistic path comes with many financial challenges. Any advice for those struggling to focus on their artwork due to financial concerns?
For me, it is all about finding a balance. I make sure that I set aside time to design, but I also have a part time job that allows me to have a flexible schedule in order to accommodate for those design needs.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
