

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlyn Barnell.
Hi Ashlyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hi! I’m Ashlyn Barnell, a fashion and lifestyle influencer and marketer. My journey began at Brooklynn’s Boutique in Woodstock, Georgia, where I worked while attending Kennesaw State University. During my time there, I modeled for the boutique and created videos and UGC content. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I expanded into influencing and began sharing personal experiences while collaborating with brands across my social media platforms. Since then, I’ve partnered with numerous well-known brands to showcase how I incorporate their products into my life. After graduating, I transitioned into a role as a Marketing Associate/Social Media Manager, where I continue to grow my career in the marketing world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced numerous obstacles along the way. What many people don’t realize about the social media world is that it’s not always as effortless and stress-free as it may seem. There are times when I rely on others to take photos of me for brand collaborations, which can get tricky given how busy everyone is. After college, I also struggled to secure a marketing role due to the highly competitive job market.

Marketing, particularly in social media and digital spaces, is an incredibly creative field. I constantly need to come up with fresh, innovative ways to pitch both my company and myself in the ever-evolving social media landscape. Staying ahead of trends, being trend-conscious, and creating clear, engaging content are what set me apart. I have a keen eye for design and aesthetics, but I also focus on connecting with my target audience. I aim to relate to them, showing that I’m here to support them on their journey and help them every step of the way.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I’ve always been extremely outgoing, having grown up in competitive cheerleading. From a young age, I’ve had the drive to be bold, unique, and stand apart from others, and I believe I’ve accomplished that. I’m always thinking of ways to avoid being “basic” and constantly push myself to think outside the box. I’ve also had a natural desire to be in front of the camera, even as a child.
