Meet Ashlyn Edith of Rawbody Skincare in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashlyn Edith.

Ashlyn, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I got into skincare and beauty as a child. I was always into hair, makeup, anything girly. My first job was doing hair out my granny’s kitchen charging people $60 for box braids. I always had a hustle, I drifted over towards skincare more because I always had sensitive skin my mother as well, the smallest things broke me out and I found an interest in having clear skin not perfect but just nice looking skin. I also suffered from eczema and dry skin so I would google home remedies to help with my skin, creating small batches of home made mask and it WORKED! So I incorporated my own ingredients and products to create the perfect working formula for all skin types, so I’m here today as an entrepreneur and a certified esthetician. That’s how much I enjoy the beauty business.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to entrepreneurship is rocky. It’s really hard, can be very depressing only if you let it. Why do I say that? Because no one ever tells the part where you have 0 orders for weeks, no support, you’re stuck on what direction to take. You want to give up. People only show the successful outcome instead of the journey. I’m my biggest supporter. I have a few friends and love ones that support me here and there but ONLY you can actually make your dreams come true. The struggles I have really support but then again, I believe in myself so I don’t need anyone else to because all of my sales come from me supporting me. Also, one other struggle that I’ve had was mastering the right ingredients/formulas everything is a trial before you can actually release to the public. Entrepreneurship isn’t for the weak and I enjoy the good and bad of it all because this isn’t a job. It’s a dream and that’s when things get hard when you treat your dream like a job.

Please tell us about Rawbody Skincare.
My business is Rawbody Skincare. Of course, it’s an organic Cruelty-free skincare company that is suitable for all skin types. I’m also a certified esthetician. We have products that lighten dark spots, eczema, moisturizers, body scrubs, serums and more.

What am I known for lol? Nothing much to me I’m a semi-popular loner, proudly and respectfully, no one on the internet knows the real me. But to people I’m known as the pretty Ig girl with a nice body and a high pitch voice. I know of a lot of people and vice versa and I’m very exclusive so me going to celebrity events and being around certain people may look like something but in reality, I’m home playing the game, reading, Creating and perfecting my craft and chilling with my boyfriend.

I’m most proud of myself for not giving up and just doing what I dreamed of doing and just reaching my goals and putting myself and business out there, as a company, I’m proud of just being able to take my home remedies and sake them to those in need at a very reasonable price even when my business takes all the way off the prices will still be very affordable it’s hard to find affordable skincare.

What’s different from me and others? In the most respectful way, I didn’t have handouts. I didn’t get help from a celebrity, parents, etc. I’m not degrading myself to get to the top, I’m working hard, creating beautiful content for future customers and also I’m licensed at what I do and this isn’t a get rich scheme. It’s a dream it’s a dramatic difference and I pray everyday I get everything I deserve regarding my business, Also my products work!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
A favorite memory is when my mom decided to take me and my siblings to toys r us and we found a bunch of fake food toys lol like an isle of it so my mom opened it up and we basically had a food fight in toys r us lol and we ended up getting kicked out and banned lmao then my mom told the security it was all us. we didn’t get in trouble but it was really funny and actually fun.
