Hi Asia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Rising Star’s came about when COVID-19 hit us. After working in childcare for many years when we was faced with this challenge called a pandemic, I watched many children struggle with reading and math. The whole virtual thing was for the good and bad. It pushed so many kids behind, below their grade level I just couldn’t stand to see to them suffer any longer. I knew what I was teaching in my daycare, I’m talking about 2 & 3 years old who can read, spell their name, simple addition and subtraction, knowing what a noun is and being able to identify what a verb describes. I teach so much more in childcare so I knew if I took that and applied it to tutoring children who was in need, it would really wake them up.
I started off with one child, did a commercial shoot for advertisement, made a social media page on Instagram and went from there. I posted everyday what I was doing to encourage the community and mothers of children who was struggling in these areas. I started off with mainly toddlers but that didn’t hold up to long. I knew where I wanted this to go and who I needed to reach. I prayed about it day and night and just God lead the way. I told God wherever you want me to go, I’m ready, I’m just the passenger he’s the driver! Before I knew it my DM was blowing up with moms from all over Savannah who seen what awesome service I was providing and actually seen results in the children. They wanted in so their child or children could be in an environment where success was the only option. We push them, challenge them, and always encourage them. When parents say they child can’t read, we show them different all in session. Yes! One session these children are showing progress. The community was sharing my post, sharing what the children was doing and learning it became a lil bigger. I sat one day with my husband Corey McNeil and was explaining to him how I not only wanted to reach mothers just in our city but I wanted to reach mothers in different cities as well cause it’s children all over who’s in need of this type of help. He said go for it! I decided to start traveling to Atlanta to tutor as well. My very first time going I tutored eight kids.
With the pandemic going on, we was definitely doing it the safe way, with mask, cleaning after each session and spraying down. It became a good thing til I was going every weekend and even had to fly a couple of times from Savannah. The goal is for me to apply the gift I have onto our future leaders. Bring them up to speed where they lack at and push them further beyond that. We drove for excellence, improvement in the classroom, less stress on parents. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Let’s think back! The only thing I will say that really made it a challenge was Covid-19. It stood in the way for a while but when the numbers started going down and things was opening back up, we became busy.

Rising Stars is exactly what it says. Our children are the upcoming Rising Stars! Stars they are and will be in life. When it comes to education we want them to be able to Rise up and shine like brightest star when they step in the room. I specialize in teaching and educating children. Known to that great teacher and that amazing tutor! Here’s what set me apart from others! My leadership, being able to grasp their attention at such a young age, but lost importantly, I actually give real Results. I stand apart from others because I take what teachers say they can’t do and put it to work. We give them everything they need to take back to the classroom and they soar. I’ve had many many kids go from scoring low on test to scoring the high in the class, kids who was struggling is now in gifted programs in school, toddlers who’s in daycare is reading and writing, doing math. Not just reading little books, I’m talking about paragraphs and reading 100 plus sight words. This happens at 2, 3, 4 all the way up. Rising Stars is the Academy want to choose when you want your child to have a boost in education or when your child is struggling in reading and math or writing.
