Today we’d like to introduce you to Darzail Nelson.
Darzail, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My story starts 10 years ago when I was only a high school student and I was introduced to the world of graphic design and photography. I always was a very creative person that thought outside the box but this was different graphic design and photography gave me the ability to create beyond the normal means and open my eyes to how big the world of creativity was. This path leads me to work at Disney to be a Designer for multiple newspapers to me becoming a freelance designer photographer and filmmaker.
Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing’s ever easy I had to constantly learn it seems as new ways were popping up every day and a had to stay ahead of the curve because it was also many people starting to pursue my same dreams. It was a struggle to keep up I had to make myself special.
Has there been people or an institution that has played a pivotal role in your career?
There hasn’t been a specific person. I’m influenced by various things around me and inspire by things I see.
Do you have a favorite type of client or project?
My favorite type of clients are ones that aim to be different and creative.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were just starting out?
Not one thing every choice we make and people we meet make us who we are today.
