Meet Ava Medina of Medina Media Creativ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ava Medina.

Ava, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I don’t know how I started exactly. What I will say is, years ago, I started on my quest to publish a magazine. I knew nothing about the business and was always smart enough to know that I did n ‘t know and needed to learn. I started to read everything I could even moving back to New York (where I’m originally from) and soaking in all I could learn there. I started paying attention to layouts; editorial art. It motivated me to learn. My writing skills were already strong and I began plugging away at it. Soon after I moved back to Atlanta and began working with one of my friends interested in launching a marketing company. I started having creative bursts out of nowhere and laying them out.

Much of what I did back then was primitive yet I kept going. When she started her agency she explained to me that my area was called concept development. I thrived in this space. I then started remotely assisting public personalities. During my early tenure with Comedian Earthquake he commented that I would be a great publicist. I then began to access exactly what that meant. It made sense that I should explore it. My ability to lay. out ideas meanwhile was steadily growing. I then began working for Idris Elba where many creative ideas were flushed out and sharpened my sword even more. Needless to say years later those skill sets have made me one of the leading resources for creative media including marketing collateral, press kits, film and television pitches, sponsorship decks and more. My client list is growing like wildfire and all I can say is….to the universe and the Most High, I am eternally grateful.

Has it been a smooth road?
There was nothing smooth about this road. A single mother, I never could quite grasp how to manage my time. I wanted to learn more and do more and I couldn’t because working two jobs many times, would distract my ability to grow independently. I would walk miles (literally) to pitch one idea…I marvel at this now, but it confirms one fundamental truth for me….It’s all about the process.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Medina Media Creativ story. Tell us more about the business.
Medina Media Creativ packages ideas while providing standard PR services. WE ARE THE ULTIMATE PITSTOP IN BRANDING. Deck design has been my most requested service outside of ghostwriting. I have designed press kits for Idris Elba, Jesse Williams, Ball Greazy, Comedian Earthquake, Chico Bean, Sole, DJ Nabs and a host of professional athletes with marketing pitches for Angie Martinez, Kofi Sidiboe, Marsai Martin, John Wall, LeCrae, Theo Rossi and more. I can’t even go into my client base because I honestly haven’t tracked it down and catalogued as of yet.

What sets me apart from others is my ability to creatively drive the message…with brilliant layouts and strategic language. My clients drop their needs off to me and I present them with their lives in an astounding package.

The thing that makes me most proud is how with little to no marketing, my phone rings incessantly….and every new client is beyond bigger than the last. The universe is indeed benevolent.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Currently, I’m under expansion. I’m extending and re-packaging services in ways I’ve never done before. I’m hiring key staff to operate certain components in order to effectively broaden the scope.
