Meet Avery Rosser of We Climb Counseling and Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Avery Rosser.

Hi Avery, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I always had a clear vision for my future – I wanted to become a lawyer. However, during my senior year of college, I felt a strong sense of direction from God that my path was meant to lead me elsewhere. As I began exploring different options, I found myself drawn to the counseling field. It was then that I realized that my passion for helping others could be fulfilled in a different way, and I felt a deep sense of purpose in pursuing a career in counseling. Though it was unexpected, I am grateful for God’s guidance and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others through counseling.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My journey has never been a smooth transition. I have always battled imposter syndrome and self-doubt, and when my mother passed away while I was in graduate school, I hit rock bottom. I almost took my life, but then I thought about my nieces who were 10 and 12 at the time, and I made a promise to my mother that I would take care of them. That promise gave me the strength to keep going, even when things seemed impossible. It was a difficult journey, but I am proud to say that I have come out on the other side stronger and more resilient.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about We Climb Counseling and Consulting LLC?

How do you think about luck?
I truly believe that God’s timing has played a major role in my success. While luck may have played a small part, it was God who allowed me to form key relationships that I have leveraged into numerous opportunities. Without those relationships, I would not be where I am today. I am grateful for the ways that God has orchestrated events in my life to lead me to where I am now.
