Meet Azari Alexander of Embracelets in Southwest Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Azari Alexander.

Azari, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started Embracelets almost four years ago inside of my home in Atlanta, Georgia. My initial reasoning for starting Embracelets: I was in search of a side hustle. Throughout high school, I had always been interested in learning the internal and external aspects of entrepreneurship. I completed the business pathway within my hometown’s high school; that specific achievement prompted me to go further with my entrepreneurial endeavors. My mother was the first to purchase my beading materials and utensils to help me get started. Also, she placed me into a beading and design class, taught by a close friend of hers, to enhance my craft.

It took a couple of months before finally perfecting my craft; all custom designs are hand-made. Trial and error played a definite role in the learning process of creating various bracelet pieces. There were many days when I didn’t receive a bracelet order; my faith was shifting. However, I continued to stay consistent, which contributed positively to the growth of Embracelets today.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not been smooth sailing; being an entrepreneur has its challenges. There were numerous times when I didn’t receive one jewelry sale, but it pushed me to go harder. I examined other black businesses around me, to gain more perspective. I was curious to know how to create user-friendly content to enhance Embracelets’ brand awareness and customer recruitment via social media. The goal of my business was to gain more exposure.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Embracelets – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Embracelets is a jewelry company where we specialize in custom-made jewelry and jewelry repairs. We are known for our custom beaded charm bracelets made from a variety of beads. I am most proud of Embracelets’ evolution. Everything over the time frame of almost four years has been revamped, from the beading materials to the string. A key aspect that sets Embracelets apart from other jewelry companies is the separation of beads by three divided by its accents. Also, an inspirational or motivational charm is attached to each bracelet set.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like that Atlanta has become an entrepreneurial hub for small businesses. A lot of business collaborations are born within my hometown. There’s nothing negative I can express about Atlanta.
