Meet B Green of Go Green in East Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryson Green.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started out as a child playing drums for the youth choir and reciting poems for holiday programs at my church in Oklahoma City, OK. As I grew, my tastes matured and I began to take a liking to musicians who made catch hooks, moving songs and creative sounds; artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley. Eventually, I would become a multi-instrumentalist – playing piano, drums and guitar – like most of my idols. I would move to Atlanta, GA to attend Morehouse College and pursue my dream of becoming a chart topping musician. Since then I have released over six albums worth of songs, performed at nearly every venue in the City of Atlanta and amassed over 500k streams on Spotify.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been anything but smooth, but nothing worth having comes easily. I’ve dealt with many setbacks, from deals falling through to losing loved ones, but still I rise.

I’ve endured many of the cliche hardships that you expect from an underappreciated artist, from financial whirlwinds to emotional battles. I shot a music video on the day I lost my grandfather. I spent every dime promoting “that song”, twice. I lost one of my closest confidants and creative motivators to a car crash. The road has been anything but smooth, but I figure that is what will make the successes even sweeter.

Victory has been a long time coming, I’ve been patient and taken what I’ve been given while demanding what I’m worth. I’ve come so far, every obstacle has simply become another reason for why I have to complete the mission before me. The farther I go, the harder it is to turn back. The more I struggle the more impossible it becomes to release.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
B Green is a renaissance man. I’m primarily a musician, that’s where I transcend but I also do film, photography, graphic design and dj, among other things. As far as music goes, I’m a factory – I put out at least two projects a year. I love making music in hoards, I’ll often do ten or fifteen songs in one night and forget about them all in a week. Of course, B Green and the “Go Green” brand is global, selling “Go Green” memorabilia to support our Eco-friendly, marijuana enthusiast, healthy lifestyle.

I think what sets me apart from most other artists and musicians is my style. The sounds I use, the way I wear my clothes, the love I get from the people – it’s all so effortless. You give what you get in the world, and I give love every time I’m in the studio, on the stage or in the streets so when the people see me, hear me, or touch me it’s all nothing but love.

Also, my songs are really good. Like, really really good.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My parents have always been my biggest supporters, encouraging me to imagine a world outside of Oklahoma City and daring me to go out and discover it. They were the conduit for so man positive things that happened in my life, from the people I met to the places I saw.

I had the pleasure of having many life-shaping educators and mentors in my life. From Mrs. Rooks in 10th grade Trigonometry, whose husband knew my mother well from my prior school, to Coach Zon, my little league football coach who created a family atmosphere and bonds that have lasted a lifetime.

Any stride I’ve made hasn’t been done individually but with a community of family, friends, mentors, teachers and coaches. I am apart of the sum, and a sum of the parts.
