Meet Beau Talley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beau Talley.

Hi Beau, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Originally from Temple Hills Maryland and the DMV area. I’m the youngest of six kids and a very musically incline family. I’ve been playing guitar since I was seven years old. Even with me starting music early I had no intention at all to be a musician. Basketball was something I absolutely wanted to do, but God had other plans.  I’m the father of a beautiful 16 year old daughter who I absolutely LOVE!! I moved to Atlanta within the year.

Over the years I’ve been able to pick up other instruments such as Piano and Trumpet. I’ve been able to sit under the greatest musicians and get much training from them. I started playing for many churches and consulting for them. I’ve been able to Grace the stage with many artists such as Atlanta’s own Algebra Blessett, Regina Belle, and Casey J. Also touch the stage with Ledisi, Tweet, Glen Lewis, and a host of other artists and Jazz musicians. I’ve also recorded my own music I have three singles out now and in the process of working on a new EP.

I’ve now stepped into the role of being a Guitar Instructor, which I’m absolutely passionate about and love. Which I didn’t expect to have so many students, but I’m grateful for God trusting me to pour into other. Also, I’m moving in the direction of studying Mental Health for musicians. Which has absolutely grown in my heart. I’m getting ready to start classes for that in the Fall.

Everything I do I put God first I owe it to him. Look I’m Christian based, so I pray for my students, with my students, even when they don’t know it lol. I’m praying for them.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
You can’t make it without going through something or some things. It’s a part of growth. I’ve always believed being a musician comes with particular challenges that are different from others. Coming to Atlanta alone has been a challenge, just when you think you’re about to do one thing God changes that. It has been for my absolute growth that I made it through.

But that wasn’t my biggest challenge. Back in 2008, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor that covered the back of my head and top of my spine. I was told music was not going to be in my future also that my life was in danger. But God (In my churchy voice) saw something in me that he completely healed me. So I’m using my gift every day to pour into others and to be pleasing to him.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Guitar Instructor here in Atlanta. I work with kids, advanced students, artists, etc. Very passionate about this work. Love helping others. I’m also looking to open up an in-person location in Atlanta for students to come in and get their lessons

Also, I’m an artist, guitarist and pianist. I have my own music out, also a ton of music that I’ve done, produced and worked on.

I’m also looking to enter the Music Therapy field.

I’m a Wedding Ceremony Musician as well.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Being a musician, you have to take risks. Me moving to Atlanta alone was absolutely a major risk. That God is starting to bloom into a dope Flower!!

I take risks daily, with my students, my business, and my music it helps you maximize your greatest potential.
