

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bentley Didier.
Bentley, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ever since elementary school, a young Bentley Didier (born Brandon Davis) was a very enthusiastic and dedicated young man to yearbook staff (Editor) and Morning Announcements. I remember having to be one of the first kids to eat breakfast and the last to roam the halls before our 1st class. I knew I was the main man because I knew everything that was going on from SGA to Chess Club to Athletics to the gossip; I was your walking SOURCE (lol). I had no idea that this would be the beginning of a career in Public Relations. Yearbook and Morning Announcements followed me all the way from elementary school into college.
While in college at Tuskegee University, I dabbled my hand into Student Government and won Freshman Class Treasurer and successfully moved on to executing Homecoming, BET Black College Tour, Xbox Tour, and other collegiate activities that fell under SGA Coordinators office. During this time, I would also begin my true Public Relations trek: wrote press releases/pitches for music artist (Rich Boy), was handling activations for BET, VH1, WETV, and MTV (all brands under Viacom belt), and handling talent relations for New York/Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (for accounts: Betsy Johnson, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Von Dutch). It was during this time that I was beginning to find my passion and allow my self to fully dive into my career.
But if that was all a fairy tale, I would be Prince Charming; however, during the time that I was starting my public relations tenure, I was also working corporate Marriott. I was apart of Regional Office and made sure every Audit Packet from 14+ hotels were in order and ready for the Corporate Accountant daily. Upon walking into my 150sqft office, I sat to my desk, looked at my computer and realized that this did not make me happy.
Long story short, I gave corporate America the deuces and went FULLTIME as a Public Relations Practioner.
Since my full-time inception, TBDF has strategically assisted in campaigns/activations/talent relations/media relations for some of the following household names and brands: Coca-Cola, Nike, Warner Brothers, BET, MTV, VH1, YouTube, NETFLIX, In-N-Out Burger, Sony, Beats by Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Kurupt, Iheart Music Festival, BET Awards/BET HipHop Awards, Bojangles, Diddy, Polaris Slingshot, WNBA/Atlanta Dream, Fashionova, Apple, Microsoft, Infiniti, DISH NATION, ONEMusic Fest, BMI/BMI Gospel, HBO, The W Hotels, and more.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth ride being an entrepreneur. Many of the struggles of my company early on were centered around networking, finances, and respect. Without a proper resume (respect), many were not friendly in my industry because I had big-name projects, not a lengthy resume. I had to fight tooth and nail just to get clients approved for events, but over time, I made great relationships (network) as to where I am submitted and cleared before I ever receive an invite.
As an entrepreneur, you have to be ALL THINGS EVERYTHING with your business, and making sure we were covered financially was one of my biggest hurdles. So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our plans for the future include finding measures to intensify my intern program. I want to find a way to truly empower and educate aspiring public relation officials to gain knowledge and practical experience to kick start them off into their career.
2019 holds quite a bit for myself and my company(s): It will be the launch of a new business endeavor; will be gaining several television/network accounts, and continuing to further our West Coast relationships.
We are also launching Bentley Didier Productions, a subsidiary of The Bentley Didier Firm under our parent company Bentley Didier Enterprise, all where Bentley is C.E.O.
2019 has us planning SuperBowl Weekend and All-Star Weekend activations for clients in Sports, Entertainment, Music, Television/Film, and Food and Beverage. We are also producing award shows and special content activations for networks and corporate conglomerates. Also, some of our clients in The Bentley Didier Firm will be recognized in the highest levels of government. Some clients have major music distribution news in 2019.
