Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernadette Hudson.
Bernadette, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My name is “BEE” of BEE Clutched Stylish Waist Trainers & Corsets, which was founded in 2018. I am a native of Mobile, AL. I have always had the drive to go hard at whatever I do. I am a Graduate of Stillman College, where I studied and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with Honors. Wanting to further my education, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology from The University of West Alabama.
I began my journey of improving my total body care about five years ago. In addition to healthy living in general, I wanted to control my shape and waistline. That’s when I began waist training. I would wear my trainer four to five days a week underneath my clothes. I wore it to work, the grocery store, to the gym, and for all of my daily activities. I was surprised not only with my results, but also with the fact that I could wear my trainer daily, breathe normally, and be comfortable. People often asked what I was doing to train my waist and I would share different retailors with them. Until that one day, I was asked. Where do I purchase my waist trainer…. and BOOM, I decided that I would never again send a potential customer elsewhere. Through years of experience knowing the ups and the downs of waist training, I knew that I would be the perfect representative. I had no idea where to begin. I had an idea and $700, so I decided to take those $700 dollars and I was “ALL IN.”
I started my business with no leads and didn’t even know how far I was going to get but I knew that I was definitely GOING. I started by deciding on the name of my business, developing the logo, locating good products and building my own storefront website. I did all of this while selling waist trainers out of the trunk of my car and working as a Full-time Clinical Therapist. I figured out fast that this journey was not going to be easy. To this day, I stand by the very practical and affordable option of waist training. I have continued to see results and have enjoyed empowering others along the way. I have become passionate about inspiring others to take control of their own bodies and see results, as I have. Thus, Bee Clutched was founded and established
Has it been a smooth road?
The answer is NO, but it has been a very rewarding Journey. I have had several situations where I have taken losses, and I must say they all made me stronger with the drive to push a lot harder. When starting my business, I discovered quickly that there was no guide or book. Experience was my teacher. Trying to balance a full-time job and a business can be very difficult at times.

I am most proud of the success and progress of my customers. To watch and witness their progression from start to current brings me so much joy. I often say to myself just WOW I did not know that the idea of selling waist trainers would result into giving someone the increased self-esteem. I am also proud to announce that BEE Clutched will soon Launch Fashionable Active Wear, which was my 1st Dream but God lead me to go another route first. Now I AM HERE!
