Today we’d like to introduce you to Moise Nicolas.
Moise, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My camera journey started when my music journey ended. I picked up a camera as a way to escape from the pressure of the music industry. From there, I ventured into different things such as street photography, making videos with friends and family, and learning how to edit both photos and videos. I currently lean more towards video but still enjoy photos just as much.
My overall goal is to become a film director, so I am constantly learning and sitting on different sets such as music videos, film, and television. Today I shoot mostly music videos and commercials but plan to transition into short films and web-based series soon.
Has it been a smooth road?
This journey is tough journey because when you think you’ve figured it out, you learn quickly that you still have such much more to learn. But I think thats with anything that you do and I honestly don’t have any moments of struggle, only moments of learning.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Bertrand Ave is a multimedia company, we focus on photography, film and I am considering bringing music back. We specialize in commercials because that is the bulk of our work but we also shoot music videos, promotional videos for social media, and of course photography. The thing I am most proud is being able to thrive in such a media-based generation. I think the thing that sets me apart from others is my hunger. I am always wanting to learn and be apart of all things film. It doesn’t matter if I’m the assistance on a big set or a director on my own set.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Atlanta is an amazing city for film and photography. It is legit Hollywood of the south. I don’t think it matters where you start out working, but I promise you’ll end up in Atlanta someway, somehow. The talent level here is on par with the best cities around the world.
