Meet Bob Hughes of Brilliance Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Hughes.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
35 years in sales and marketing, 5 years in video conferencing. In 2001, I started Brilliance Photography. We specialize in marketing photography and video for architects, construction firms, engineers, and the hospitality industry. I have an office in Oakland, CA the covers the West Coast. 85% of my business is repeat. Six years ago we started building our own drones. We now have a fleet of 6 drones that specialize in photography, video, building inspections, and creating 3D point cloud files.

Highlights of Brilliance Photography

– For 5 years the head photographer for the Chick-fil-A Bowl.
– Photographed spy plane hangars for the Air Force and construction firms.
– Hired by the Carter Center to photograph Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Carter.
– Iconic Projects include the 17th street bridge, Golden Gate and Bay Bridge, Transamerica Building, San Francisco Symphony Hall, Avalon development and completion, founders of Google and Apple, server farms for Google, wineries, private golf courses, GA Tech McCamish Stadium, Porsche’s new HQ near the airport.

Has it been a smooth road?
The first 5 years were difficult but we grew in business every year, then the 2008, 2009 recession hit. From 2010 we have had great growth and lead the industry with drone services.

Brilliance Photography specializes in spectacular Architectural, Engineering, Hospitality, and Construction Photography and Video, as well as those extremely difficult assignments that only a well-seasoned photographer can capture. High-resolution digital photographs or video with Luster, Radiance, and Clarity are why our customers return.
