Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Coleman.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My pastors had been teaching a series on credit, savings, having multiple streams of income…etc. I had been praying on something else to do to bring in another source of income. One day at my full-time, I worked all morning in the best of mood! I had prayed and did my morning meditation and was feeling great! Well, another shift came in and shifted the existing mood. Very snappy and short-tempered. Well, it kinda turned mine and the other employee’s great mood into just “a mood”….if you know what I mean. Lol!! I literally just start quoting sayings in my head…My Mood ain’t for her Mood. My Mood Can’t take her Mood. My Mood ain’t in the Mood for her Mood! Ding Ding Ding. I am going to create a T-shirt line about moods!! Things people want to say but don’t really say! I reached out to a guy I knew that does graphic designs and website, we put our creative heads together and Mood Teez was born! My motto is Wearing a Mood while being in a Mood! There are many different Moods but don’t come for my Mood! Whether I’m happy, sad, feeling like a boss or laying low! It’s all a MOOD!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth ride. You think you know so many people and everybody is going to support you, buy a shirt and tell everyone they know! Not so…no way…no how! Some people I talk to all time have not supported my business. You start off with a bang, purchase after purchase. Then nothing! You try to push and push your product, then you get a few more sales. I started doing research and looking at other T-shirt lines and their success! I am revamping, learning, praying and redirecting my focus back on Mood Teez!
Mood Teez – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My T-shirt line allows you to wear your Mood while being in a Mood! I specialize and known for speaking my mind and my T-shirt line allows me to do so without opening my mouth! I am most proud of and what sets me apart is having a line that unique, straight to the point and fun!!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment so far has been the day I launched. I have worked for someone my whole working career and to have something that is completely mine. That was the best feeling!!!
