Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandis Mckenzie.
Hi Brandis, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
BrandisM Designs, LLC began when I was in college. My roommate Jazz Kelley and I created DIY crafts for every occasion. From homecoming cups to Divine 9 paraphernalia. We created a business together, but it quickly fizzled out once we graduated and life began. I, however, kept designing. I started up my own design business in 2016 doing logos and invitations for my friends and old classmates. The logo business didn’t last long with me being a full-time Registered Nurse and not having enough time to perfect my craft. During my Travel Nurse venture in 2018, my spiritual journey began. At that point, I wasn’t sure how I wanted to advance in my nursing career. After multiple attempts of God trying to reach me, I finally listened. I came back home in 2019 to officially begin my business. At first, all BrandisM Designs was, was a clothing brand. But once I took a permanent nursing job in Fayetteville Georgia, got pregnant, and engaged, I knew there was more to my life than just nursing. BrandisM Designs has emerged into an all-in-one custom shop. Now I create apparel for business branding and events small and big. I specialize in HTV, sublimation, embroidery, and digital design. This business has protentional to grow into a legacy I want to leave for my family.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This road has been anything but smooth, curvy, bumpy, lumpy whatever you want to call it. After having my daughter during the COVID-19 Pandemic, it was like life hit in a way it should have when I graduated college. The struggle was and still is juggling being a new mom, partner, and business owner. At one point, I felt like I lost myself and I did. I wasn’t doing the things that got me to this point, studying the word and growing my relationship with God. How could I be a voice to others, and I wasn’t talking my own advice. I can use the excuse that life got in the way and I got comfortable but that wouldn’t be the full truth. Now that I have realized what stands in the way of my success, I can grow and develop into someone other young entrepreneurs can look up to.

BrandisM Deisgns, LLC an all-in-one custom shop. We design custom apparel for clients specializing in heat transfer vinyl, sublimation, embroidery, and some brand development services like logo and social media design. BrandisM Designs caters to the client. As a business owner, you know what the customer needs, hence why they chose your services in the first place, but some customers might not understand that what they want and need are totally different. At BrandisM Designs, we have a way of communicating to the customer so that they feel comfortable in our abilities to provide the services requested. We communicate with each client personally throughout the process to ensure it runs smoothly and nothing gets missed. Our end goal is to provide service that leaves a little love you can’t get rid of.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me most are the people. I want to help people bring to life ideas they can’t quite get to on their own. In the end, it won’t matter what we did in the world but how we made others feel.
