Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Edenfield.
Hi Brandon, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hotrods and lowriders have always played a big part in my life. Even from childhood, I was either in my grandad’s paint and body shop or in my dad’s mechanic shop. I’ve always known I wanted to make cars look cool and that would be my life. I worked at a local shop growing up which led me into a career of traveling the country and training for Texas tint. A few years after I decided it was time to venture out on my own and we’ve been rocking since. We’ve had huge support from our locals as we’ve become Savannah’s go-to shop for “all things custom”. We offer everything from vinyl wraps and window tints to custom lighting and suspension. We take pride in offering quality one-off work. We have plans to add more services as we grow until we’re a complete one-stop shop.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With a history which includes a failing company, hard times, and crooked business partners just to name a few, it has been far from easy. I worked for a large, well-known company in Texas before making the decision to return home to the Savannah area. I was in West Virgina before transferring to Texas, but quickly discovered the company was falling apart upon arriving. It wasn’t long before I was left with nothing more than a few boxes of window tint and my tools. So, I did what I knew best, and I tinted windows! That was the beginning of my first company. I played my hand in Texas and did well, but I knew my clientele was back home in Savannah. One night I just decided I was coming home, packed my car and left Texas the next morning. The following day I made a post that I was open for business as Savannah’s mobile tint shop. The demand became too much for one person to handle faster than I expected therefore I had to make a change. Someone I knew for years wanted to become partners and could handle managing the business with his experience which would allow me to focus solely on putting out quality work. After about two years of this partnership, I was put in a position where the best option was for me to walk away and start anew. In less than a month Port City Customs was born! I’d say the hardest part about it is waking up every day and trying to outdo what you did with your last company. I’m happy to say I beat my own reputation and we are back on top. Call me stubborn, call me driven, but I don’t give up and I’m bringing that same energy to every job we do.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We offer vinyl wraps, window tints, custom lighting, suspension, accessories and more.
I would say our specialties are window tint, wraps and lighting.
We’re known as the shop to get it done. When they say it can’t be done, we make it happen.
We’ve had the privilege to work with some incredible companies for some really cool wraps. We installed a wrap for Connor McGregor’s Proper Twelve Irish Whiskey brand which was showcased in Savannah’s 2023 St. Patrick’s Day Parade! I would say we’re most proud to have the following and backing from our community. We appreciate the referrals and reviews from customers, word of mouth is the best way to support us.
I’d say what sets us apart is the pure passion behind what we do. We’re not at a 9 to 5. This is what we love!
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I remember playing football when I was younger. I played right guard. I remember when we would line up to bigger guys, my coach would always say, “Keep your feet chopping; the fight is only over when you give up!” That has played a huge part in my success. No matter the obstacle, I’m not quitting. Leave me stranded; I’ll find a way to make it. Steal everything from me; I’ll restart again. No matter the obstacle, keep chopping! RIP Coach Porterfield.
