Meet Brandon Hall of Grass Routes Podcast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Hall.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brandon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started in the music business being a Hypeman for Joe Budden, I was fresh out of college and a mutual friend of ours introduced us. Funny thing is I knew his whole family outside of him and he didn’t like me (which is a whole other story in its self) lol. After we spoke the mutual friend had an idea of me replacing him as his hypeman considering he was going to pursue his acting career in LA. He wanted to make sure Joe wouldn’t be without someone to help. I got a call one day from Joe saying we were going to Switzerland, I said vacation! Joe said no you’re gonna work with me now.

You’re talented but out of your mind. I laughed did the show then 11 yrs later I’m here. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some great people that are still around today and support me like crazy. These are people as a kid I admired for their artistry and craft. I would have never in a million years thought these same people would be fans of the comedic skits I’ve written or my showmanship on stages. its one of those things where you just feel like anything is possible as long as you stick with it.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Nothing great has a smooth ride, there was a lot I had to fight through early on. As things started to really pick up with music I started to have trouble keeping jobs because employers would start to act funny once they found out what I did and who I was. I never really got comfortable working with people because in my mind this isn’t permed these people are going to see a video or go to a show or find out something and then there goes that.

Funny thing is I still deal with that today but now I just feel like it comes with the turf. I wouldn’t trade any of the bad experiences I’ve had. A lot of the negative things I’ve been through helped me develop a thick skin.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Grass Routes Podcast – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a co-Founder of a platform called Grass Routes Podcast, my self and co-host Erin Ashley Simon specialize in content creation where we bring influential guests on our platform and talk about their come up stories as well as current events. Originally Erin and I thought we would be guest based because people were shocked at how we gelled with our guests but then people wanted to hear more of our thoughts we decided to start releasing episodes that focused on our views and perspectives, the moment we did that things started to really pick up for us.

Fans really engage with us because we don’t hold back our thoughts we go in-depth with our breakdowns while adding comedic relief to break up some of the serious moments makes for a great listening experience. I think one of the main things that sets us apart is the cast of people we have and the fact that we’re all working on a common goal and that’s to create the best possible product for our audience. nothing else matters to us and we don’t/won’t sell our fans short of that.

When our fans make suggestions or provide  feedback we actually take it and make the necessary changes. The other main thing is that while we’re young we’re knowledgeable about the culture and do our research to make sure substance is being provided with a unbiased lens.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We have some many things we’re working on, we just launched our  merchandise which fans have been purchasing like crazy considering its limited supply and we are actually planning a fan outing Aug 25th so we can spend the day getting to know some of the people that support us consistently. We have a few other big announcements coming soon that i cant share but extremely exciting new coming very soon stay tuned!
