Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Mintz.
Brandon, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
At the University of Georgia, I found myself becoming very interested in the emerging cryptocurrency scene. I decided to dive headfirst by doing some personal crypto trading to gain first-hand experience and understanding. That time I spent was very valuable because it unveiled a gap in the market – cash to crypto as most options were only online. From there, it felt like a no brainer to try and fill that gap.
After this, I founded my first company – Cash to Crypto – when Bitcoin was still in its infancy, allowing anyone in the U.S. to purchase cryptocurrency in minutes with no confusing instructions or excessive wait times. Over time, it became one of the first professional OTC crypto trading companies in the world. Then came Bitcoin Depot. A little over four years and 700+ Bitcion ATMs (BTMs) later, we were able to become the Bitcoin Depot we are today. As a serial entrepreneur, I’m passionate about changing the face of currency.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest obstacle was trying to find out where we fit in the market. Cryptocurrency ATMs in general, are a very relatively new concept, and attempting to find where an unknown piece of tech can fit in the “normal world” was hard, but thankfully we found our niche and are thriving.

What has been your proudest moment so far in your career?
Right now has been one of the proudest moments I’ve had in my career. I’ve seen so many companies struggle through the past several months due to COVID. I can’t help but to be so incredibly grateful and proud that the company has been able to not only survive but thrive in this changing landscape. On top of that, the entire team has stepped up their game and risen to the challenge that quarantine has brought them – how could I not be proud to have such a great team. We have not had to do any layoffs or pay cuts during this time, the families of our employees were not affected and we have continued to grow and hire during this time.
