Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Wilson.
Brandon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After graduating from Jacksonville State University in 2017, I moved back home to Birmingham, AL. At that time, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life…like many other college graduates. On my first day back home, I contacted a friend and asked her to go get drinks. She started telling me about her business, whose slogan was ‘We Come To You.’ I immediately thought of PartyPack… “If you’re having a party, you can order a pack.” Two days later, I found myself in Atlanta with no place to stay. When I started refining my business plan, I decided to change the name to PartyPaQ in honor of Omega Psi Phi and my fraternity brother, Tre Mitchell.
Fast forward….three years later, I’ve been working harder than ever to make PartyPaQ a successful business! Through financial literacy videos on YouTube, I learned important business concepts and began implementing them into PartyPaQ. As a result, PartyPaQ has catered over 20 parties for clients, established business relationships with various restaurants, bars, and clubs throughout Atlanta, and hosted our own private events!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all. As mentioned earlier, I moved to Atlanta on the fly. I didn’t even have a job. So, at first, I was more focused on making ends meet. Once I finally found a job, I didn’t have as much time as I needed to put into PartyPaQ. In July 2019, I decided to quit my job and work full-time for PartyPaQ.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about PartyPaQ – what should we know?
PartyPaQ provides luxury party services, including photographers, entertainment, drinks, decorations, hookahs, food, and much more! We specialize in adult party planning, with aspirations to expand into children’s parties, pet parties, weddings, and all other types of events. The thing that sets us apart from others is that we literally “Bring the Party to You.” When you order a PaQ, you don’t have to worry about anything. Just tell us what you want and it’s there! As a company, we are most proud of being able to connect and do business with celebrity clientele.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
First, I have to give thanks to my clients because whenever they order a PaQ, they are adding to PartyPaQ’s success. I thank my frat brother, Nick for being the first of many people who encouraged me to go for it. Finally, I thank my girlfriend, Bria, because she has been there and been supportive throughout the whole process. One of the things I appreciate most is that she is PartyPaQ’s lawyer and willing to answers any legal question I have.
