Meet Breana Mccullers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Breana Mccullers.

Hi Breana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am an event planner, event curator and public speaker residing in Atlanta, GA. I am passionate about women-led businesses, my community and education. I started my career as an event planner working in the music industry in New York City. While at the major record label, I worked in the Promotions department and managed events such as concerts, listening parties and album release parties to market the artists. I was inspired to do more for the community, which led to the creation of Spring in Austell.

I am the founder of Spring in Austell, LLC, a community-based Event Planners collective. Spring in Austell organizes events and works closely with other small business owners to create various fundraising and community events. Small businesses are the backbone to our community and nonprofit organizations strengthen the fabric of our communities, that is why I have helped to raise over 2.6 million dollars for non-profit organizations. Support small and local businesses.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The pandemic has hurt many businesses. There has been a vast decrease in live events following the ban on social gatherings. Event Planners have had to restructure how we curate events and develop new revenue streams to stay afloat. Spring in Austell expanded and has curated events in new industries. From festivals and concerts to office corporate events, private parties, and weddings, we do it all. You can help support Spring in Austell and small businesses by volunteering at one of our events. Be on the lookout for our upcoming events and follow us on social media.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Spring in Austell?
Spring in Austell is a community collective of event planners. Community members have come together to create our annual Spring in Austell: Austell Food & Arts Festival. This festival is an annual event that was introduced to the City of Austell to emphasize community development, honor local artists, promote undiscovered artists, and stimulate small businesses. Admission and parking are free and the entire community comes out to celebrate. This festival features food vendors, bouncy houses, giant board games, corn hole tournaments, sack races, arts & crafts, face painting and axe throwing just to name a few. The City of Austell also conducts tours of Louise Suggs Memorial park where the event takes place. We are happy to be backed by the community and have support from local businesses.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Spring in Austell also owns the National Hot Sauce Competition. The National Hot Sauce Competition is a competitive eating contest where you can sample and purchase hot sauces, barbecue sauces, and locally crafted products while enjoying live bands. Please visit www.springinaustell.com to learn more about our organization.
