As a child growing up in the vibrant heart of Brooklyn, I witnessed numerous individuals in my community brimming with untapped potential, yet sadly succumbing to the limitations of their circumstances. Determined to forge my own path, I embraced the artistic talents bestowed upon me by a higher power, such as drawing and a flair for creativity. This led me to venture into the world of fashion, culminating in the creation of Destined Greatness Apparel. Our brand ethos, “the only thing standing between you and greatness is you,” serves as a poignant reminder that one’s circumstances should never define their destiny. Through our clothing, we strive to empower individuals with the belief that they are not bound by their current situation.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In all honesty, I embarked on my brand journey back in 2019, and since then, it has proven to be a lengthy yet incredibly inspiring odyssey. Along the way, I have encountered my fair share of challenges, grappling with moments of self-doubt and navigating through the pervasive gender stereotypes that can hinder support for women designers.
