Today, we’d like to introduce you to Bridney Chantal . Bridney was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Corinne Victoria.
Hi Bridney, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
As a little girl I found a passion for performing… if there was a stage I wanted to be on it. I sung in shows and competitions when I was younger, modeled as a young adult, and have been acting for the past 16 years. God has literally aligned my path to meet amazing people who have helped me grow. This came to light once I put myself out there to meet new people who were where I wanted to be, and ask valuable questions. I truly can’t thank them enough for their time, motivation, and focus in helping me get to where I am now. I take nothing for granted. I still have a lot to learn and I look forward to seeing where else this journey takes me. I am now in my 30’s, an actress, and a licensed professional in the beauty industry. It’s extremely rewarding to see everything I have worked hard for come to life.
Alright, so we’d love to learn more about your acting career. What should we know?
I am most proud of my growth. Acting has always been my dream job, but when I first started I cared too much about how I looked, or sounding weird while performing… which is a definite no. Actually the weirder and more in character you can get, is what the industry looks for! I had the opportunity to work with Chicago director Richard Gallion who often said, “for every action there’s a reaction”. Those words have stuck with me and always will. Remembering this helped me be a better listener, which is vital while rehearsing and performing. I began to realize, “this is not about Bridney, focus on the character and what is happening in the scene”. After that, I felt I became my character and I was no longer just acting out the lines… I had control of her, and honestly that was a good feeling! It feels good to be able to embody characters that I’m not everyday. Throughout the years I have continued to gain knowledge about becoming a better actress, and now that’s exactly what I have become. Or so I’ve been told (laughs). As of now I’m working on getting more into the voiceovers, and I am looking forward to new opportunities. I currently play the mother on the hit YouTube show “Coco Just Being Coco”. I love my role and the joy the show brings to so many families around the world. I’ve been on the show since 2020 and I’m truly grateful for this opportunity.
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Corinne Victoria and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Corinne.
My experience with Corinne has been an adventure in all the best ways possible! We first met in 2013 on the set of a stage play, where I was an actress, and she was doing makeup and wardrobe. She was always professional and polite. As we did more productions together, we began to converse and get to know each other a little more. At some point, I developed an interest in doing makeup and with no hesitation she offered to teach and share her knowledge with me. When I had questions, she was always there to assist in any way possible. The first time we met up outside of rehearsals, our energy matched so well. It felt like we had known each other for years. Since the day I met her she has always been so motivating, supportive, honest, and has inspired me to think above and beyond!
When she came to me in 2020 and asked me to play the mother on “Coco Just Being Coco” I immediately said yes. I know any vision Corinne has, will always always be successful. Within a matter of weeks, after the very first episode, the show went viral. She works hard to be consistent and that is admirable. I’m always right there to root her on, offer ideas/suggestions, and help in anyway way possible… and she is so accepting and open minded to it all.
What I admire about Corinne , is that she is always working towards the next level in whatever she does . She continuously strives to be the best version of herself and is always willing to help the people in her life do the same. She is a woman of many talents & skills: Retired cosmetologist, makeup artist, photographer, stylist, interior decorator, dancer, writer, actress , and director! Any plan she has, it is executed with professionalism and dedication. Working with Corinne over the years up until now has been refreshing & elevating . I genuinely have enjoyed it all, and I am eternally grateful. I have become a firm believer that dreams do come true when you ask questions, listen, practice, and work daily on being your best self.
