Briona, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
All businesses start out with a dream, here’s a brief synopsis of mine. To start with, in 2014, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the best HBCU, of course… Virginia State University! Helping others has always been a true passion of mine, whether that’s through communicating and connecting with clients in the mental health field or through the beauty industry. I’ve always been the friend to do your makeup, eyelashes, giving beauty tips, and even mini counseling sessions (lol). I loved working in the mental health field with children and adults. However, ultimately I just knew I had a dream to fulfil.
My dream and passion were to be a part of the beauty industry and to enhance women from all walks of life. I’ve always had knowledge in the beauty industry, coming from my mom, a licensed cosmetologist, my entire life. I was what you call a “shop baby” (lol). In the salon seeing the joy and genuine smiles put on women’s faces as they were glammed in the beauty salon was such a satisfying feeling. I always knew my true goal was to be in the beauty industry, assisting in boosting the confidence of women from all walks of life. I’ve always known of various lashes and lash styles, however in 2017, I not only discovered lash extensions, but I also decided to make a change that ultimately changed me. I decided to take a lash course as I fell in love with the beauty of lash extensions, and became a Certified Eyelash Technician! Also, I decided to move my life from Richmond, Virginia, to Atlanta, Georgia! Atlanta is where I started my business, Lash Girl Standing, offering all lash styles and brow tinting services.
Has it been a smooth road?
Has the road been easy? Heck No! Applying lash extensions isn’t as easy as it looks! From long hours and nights of perfecting my craft, to not being confident in servicing clients, to balancing time to fund my lash business as a whole. I was new to Atlanta, so building clientele was a bit difficult for me starting out. I was torn between deciding whether to keep going with perfecting and building my lash career, or either going back into the 9-5 world to work full time. I said no way… Lash Girl Standing is my baby, and I have to make it! I just felt as though I didn’t have what it took to be a successful lash artist. Well… let’s just say with prayer, practice, and perseverance, I am now servicing a large range of clients with their lash and brow needs. I enjoy “lash talk” with my gorgeous clients and I never gave up! I encourage new beauty business owners to keep going and to always secure your bag sis!

At Lash Girl Standing, our specialty is offering healthy natural lash extensions to all clients serviced. Lashes seem to uplift women’s spirits and give them the purse bliss of feeling beautiful. Lash Girl Standing prides itself on offering a relaxing, serene environment for each client serviced. What sets us apart from other lash businesses is that we offer all types of lash services, not limited to just lash extensions. We also put lash health as our number one priority! We are a business on the grow and I am excited for Lash Girl Standing’s future!

Yes, of course! Lash Extensions are one of the top beauty enhancements in the world. A lash and beauty business is very marketable in Atlanta, being that it is filled with women from all walks of life seeking to support beauty bosses all over the city!
