Meet Brittanie Beattie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittanie Beattie.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brittanie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a model. I started when I was around 14, to help boost my self-confidence. I was the girl who was made fun of because of her size. I was tall and slender compared to my peers. I went through a lot of hardships as a child which helped me succeed in this career. I was abused as a child. I took all my pain, hurt and put it into my art. I never thought I would be a professional model at the age of 22. Modeling helped me find myself and know my worth.

Has it been a smooth road?
This career is not easy. You are consistently being criticized for your looks and body size. Financially it’s a lot. I’m always investing money into my modeling. I’ve had a lot of ‘doubt ‘moments where I did not know if I was going to make it. When I first started, I had to find people who we’re willing to work with me, even though I did not have any work to show.

Please tell us about your work.
I’m a model. My big hair is definitely what sets me apart from others. My proudest moment is when I was accepted into my first magazine. Also, when I signed to my first agency in New York.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like fashion, and how everybody is involved in some ‘art ‘whether it’s rappers, producers or models. I dislike TRAFFIC! But, I’m pretty sure everybody does.
