Meet Brittany Flanigan of Theweirdhealer LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Flanigan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brittany. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After graduating from Clark Atlanta University in 2011 with a B.A. in Music… I found myself asking what next? It wasn’t until 2013 that I would be introduced to a new passion. At the time, I was a served. Which I actually enjoyed because it was fast money and a great way for me to meet new people every day. A friend during this time was drafted to Pittsburgh Steelers and it peaked my curiosity and interest into sports. I would travel back and forth to Pittsburgh to catch games and to support my friend. One day while at his house, his therapist came over to give him a massage after a game. I immediately fell in love! My friend saw that it had sparked interest and began teaching me some stretch techniques. It was at that moment that I knew what it was I was called to do. I enrolled myself back into school to earn my certification to become a Neuromuscular Therapist. I knew once I graduated that I wanted to work with athletes… not taking into consideration what it would actually take to get to them. I began working for a spa straight out of school making $15 an hr. At the time, it seemed like a lot of money because I still had my job as a server.

Working at the spa my clientele built really fast and my boss gave me a $3 raise within my first year working. Although I was making decent money, I knew that I couldn’t stay in this position for too long. I desired more. I was destined for more. In 2017, I decided to quit both jobs and take a leap of faith to work full time as an entrepreneur. With lots of prayer and faith in my vision my brand, Theweirdhealer LLC has been beyond a blessing! Over the years, I’ve been blessed to work with nine different NFL teams amongst other big name celebrities. Taking that leap of faith has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an entrepreneur is far from smooth. When I decided to quit both of my jobs, I literally only had 1 steady client and less than $500 to my name. It was a rough time in my life. A time I spent majority alone. Trying to figure out what did I just get myself into. Asking myself why the universe guided me to quit both of my jobs and why was I crazy enough to do it!? There were plenty of days. Even weeks that I didn’t make any money…. literally no money! But going back to work for someone else was not an option for me. I would have felt like a failure. So, I had to figure out ways to market myself. I had to learn to network. I had to learn to be my own boss. Building a business takes discipline and consistency. I had to introduce myself to both.

Theweirdhealer LLC – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Theweirdhealer LLC is a mobile massage therapist. I travel all over. With business here in Atlanta and back in my home state New Jersey. I even have some clientele that fly me into their city! I don’t like to give a specific technique to my style of massage. I often just tell people…it’s an experience. I customize the massage session to your body’s need. It’s a beautiful exchange of energy. I bring the ambiance to you. The sensual music, the scents, and positive vibes. I allow you to relax and escape reality for a few hours. Once I get my hands on you…you’ll never get a massage from anyone else.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Honestly, it’s the fact that what you see is what you get! People do business with me because I show them all sides of me. I’m an open book and extremely transparent. I’m human and people like to do business with people they can relate to and feel comfortable around. I’m honest about my emotions and won’t hesitate to give an opinion on any given topic. It’s daring and bold…. and people love it!
