Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Raquel.
Brittany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It all started in 2015, I was a struggling mom working dead-end jobs and just barely making ends meet when I was told I should try opening a tax business. I knew of others that were very successful in the business, so me being the risk-taker that I am, I went for it. Five years later and I’m here.
First-year in the business, I worked with a company called Tax Biz Pros s/o to Monique & Eric Williams the owners for showing me the way. I did pretty well for my first year. The second year, I made 50,000 in 45 days.
It wasn’t until after year two, I decided to go full time and 100% commit to the business.
Today, five years in business, I have a team of 42 tax preparers and oversee six additional tax offices.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was definitely a tough road. Before I started my business I was coming out of a season where I lost everything all while being a single mother. I had very little capital. No office or the materials needed to successfully run a business. I hustled as much as I could, having plate sales and accepting friendly donations from family and friends to help me with start-up costs for everything. I owned a small cleaning business which also helped me out with the recurring expenses. After a while, that dried up so money was very limited. Imagine starting a business with little to no capital with no prior experience in running a legitimate business. It was terrible.
I never questioned my ability to pull it off and kept my faith. I always knew greater would be ahead if I could just get through all the obstacles of starting a business.
With the grace of God, he allowed me to weather the storm and after my 2nd year, I did six figures.
This year, I decided to step out on faith and made an investment with another business that cost me $25k. Yes, Twenty-five thousand dollars. This was an interesting time in my life. I was scared yet took the risk and the new business venture ended in shambles.
To God be the Glory. He showed up again and delivered me out of that season.
Please tell us about KRB TAX PROFESSIONALS – what should we know?
My company is called KRB Tax Professionals. We pride ourselves on educating our clients on all tax laws.
I would say I’m most proud of the way I create job opportunities in my community and not afraid to show others a way to be successful in the tax industry.
We work as a team to provide our clients with friendly, and knowledgeable services.
I strive to conduct my business in a manner that reflects my faith and principles and take opportunities to impact the lives of others.
I think that’s what sets us apart from others.

I have a great team that is growing year by year. Leading the way with Chuckie (Tax-Man) Smith, whose been apart of my team since day one. I’m very thankful for my tax team they have helped me grow my business tremendously. I’m excited to see the growth as we expand to bigger cities.
