Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Courie
Hi Brooke, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Six years ago, my life was a whirlwind of uncertainty and resilience. As a newly single mom with limited work experience, I felt like I was navigating through a fog, desperately searching for a way to provide for my family while maintaining my new found identity. That’s when my sister Brittany opened a door for me. She was the manager of a lash studio and offered me a front desk job – where I learned the ropes of the beauty industry. Brittany was not just my sister; she was my mentor, guiding me through the intricacies of the business. Slowly but surely, I climbed the ranks, eventually becoming a manager myself.
From there, I leaped into the world of med spas, taking on a managerial role that allowed me to immerse myself in the world of Botox, fillers, and skincare. I began managing the med spa’s social media, and this is really where I saw the importance of social media to a business, but also the burden it puts on business managers who have 100 other tasks to do.
One day, I faced a crossroads. I could either continue to endure the corporate grind, sacrificing precious moments with my family, or I could muster the courage to follow my passions. I chose the latter. With my savings in hand and a heart full of hope, I decided to start my own venture.
My first client was my dear friend Sarah Johnson, a fellow entrepreneur who owns Insight Dental. She saw potential in me when I struggled to see it in myself. With her support, I took the leap. I called Brittany, bubbling with excitement, and proposed a partnership. “I’m doing this! Do you want to join me?” Though she kept her marketing job initially, she began to work with me on the side, and that’s when the magic happened.
Our fledgling company, SOCIAL HOURE, became a beacon of possibility. Referrals poured in, and the business blossomed in ways I could hardly imagine. Before long, Brittany was ready to leave her job and join me full-time, and we became the dynamic duo of social media and marketing.
Brittany and I were like yin and yang—my passion for photography and videography perfectly complemented her love for analytics and design. She brought structure and strategy to the chaos of my creativity. With her experience as a regional manager, she filled the gaps that I didn’t even know existed, transforming our dreams into a tangible reality.
As we approach our one-year anniversary, I look back at the journey with disbelief. Seventeen clients and two employees later, I’m living a life that feels surreal. I’m doing what I love, surrounded by family, and proving to myself that I am enough. I refused to let the naysayers dictate my path; instead, I chose to believe in my vision.
I am endlessly grateful for our amazing clients who trust us and refer us, and I owe so much to my partner Blair, who stood by me, championing my dreams when most people would say “get a real job.” Most importantly, I couldn’t have done it without Brittany—the pillar of strength in our company, the sister who believed in me when I struggled to believe in myself.
Together, we are not just building a business; we are crafting a legacy, proving that with passion, perseverance, and a little bit of sisterly love, anything is possible. Cheers to SOCIAL HOURE.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The greatest challenge? Having that unwavering trust in yourself—that deep-seated belief that success is not just a possibility, but an inevitable reality. It truly is something that you must manifest for yourself and your business.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The industry is constantly evolving and shows no signs of slowing down. We’re seeing a transformation in how consumers discover businesses. Today, many people turn to social media to decide where to eat, shop, or get their hair done. This makes having a strong social media presence essential. Since social media is here to stay, it’s vital to adapt and ensure new clients can easily find you! Choosing the right social media agency is critical— anyone can post on Instagram, you need a team that will implement a genuine strategy, create engaging content, interact with your audience, and elevate your social media presence to deliver a true return on your investment.
