Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Dunbar
Hi Brooke, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Brooke Dunbar, I am the Founder and CEO of Brooke Dunbar Real Estate and
Co-Founder and CEO of Regal Legacy Group. I am an Associate Broker in which I operate a
full-service real estate organization providing clients with world class service in Commercial and
Residential real estate throughout the state of Georgia. I am also a national real estate investor,
wholesaler and coach providing my investor clients with the tools and resources to assist them in
diversifying their real estate investment portfolio. I am honored to sit on the board of directors as
a Senior Executive of Small Business development of the Signature Entrepreneurs and
Masterminds. I am committed to serving my communities with educating my clients (residential,
commercial and investors) and the public on the resources and benefits of gaining wealth through
real estate. My mantra is BUILD A LEGACY-LEAVE AN INHERITENCE
When the why is clear the how is easy. This quote resonates with me and my journey of building
my legacy in so many ways. The day I realized what I was purposed and destined to do in life is
the day my “WHY” became crystal clear. The day was May 11 th 2018. This is the day that both
my husband and I were unemployed due to layoffs from our corporate jobs. At the time our two
children were ages two and six. We had $0.00 in savings but million-dollar visions and
aspirations. Our focus was never on the lack of resources and the woe is me attitude. As I reflect
four years ago, that drive and fire we had burning on the inside of us, allowed us to see a tangible
reality that our lives would be forever changed.
Instead of my husband and I scrambling to find another job to make ends meet we decided to
trust in God with 100% reliance and total dependence on His word knowing that we could
accomplish ALL THINGS that we set our minds to. We decided that we were going to take a
leap of faith and start our own business. Out of the two layoff’s there was only one severance
package. Out of my eleven years of service I was given seven thousand dollars severance pay. I
decided to sew every penny of those seven thousand dollars into us starting our own business.
What business do we start? That was the “million dollar” question. REAL ESTATE! Was the
“million dollar” answer. My husband and I started to formulate our business plan, model, articles
of incorporation, organizational chart, duties and responsibilities.
One of my favorite biblical scriptures is: Habakkuk 2:2-3 And the LORD answered me: “Write
the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its
appointed time; it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely
come; it will not delay.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting my real estate business definitely had its challenges in the beginning. I gained insight from my mentors and coaches. I also dove right into the field with my grass roots approach by becoming an investor myself.
Some common challenges I faced was
a Lack of Capital: Real estate can require significant upfront costs. I sewed every dollar I had into starting my company. I started small by partnering with other investors to help fund the venture. I also received my real estate license which I started to list and sell residential properties.
Building a Network was a bit challenging especially because I was in a whole new market. It was imperative for me to connect with a solid team of real estate business associates that were not only goal oriented but trustworthy and reliable.
Understanding my Market was also very intricate and took time to fully understand because Knowing your market is key. I had to really Research my target area, understand local trends, and identify neighborhoods with growth potential. This knowledge helped in making informed decisions and spotting lucrative opportunities.
Marketing & Branding was also something new for me. I had to develop a strong online presence (website, social media, etc.), share valuable content like blogs and videos, and consider paid ads targeting local clients. Word of mouth is powerful, so excellent customer service was key to building my reputation.
Time Management: Real estate requires juggling multiple tasks—clients, listings, meetings, and paperwork. Time management is critical. I am consistently
staying motivated, keep learning, and never be afraid to ask for advice or mentorship.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I am a certified Real Estate Mentor. Finding a mentor and building a solid network are key to growing in any field, especially in real estate. You have to be clear about your goals. Define the Value You Bring. Mentors often want to see that you’re dedicated and proactive. I always think about and showcase what value I’m adding to the relationship, even if it’s just showing up with a good attitude and a willingness to learn.
Sometimes, the best connections come from people you already know. Reach out to colleagues, clients, or other people in your network. They might be able to connect you to someone who can guide you or provide mentorship.
Use platforms like LinkedIn to engage with real estate professionals. Follow industry leaders, comment on their posts, and start conversations.
Real estate conferences, seminars, or local meetups are excellent places to meet mentors and like-minded professionals. These events often feature opportunities for networking, and you may meet a potential mentor in casual conversations.
