Meet Dr. Bruce Salzinger of Chiropractic Healthcare of Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Bruce Salzinger.

Dr. Salzinger – please kick things off for us.  Where does this story start?

In 1974 I experienced a serious skiing related injury. After 3 months of traditional drug and physical therapy treatments for a herniated disc and bilateral severe sciatica I was scheduled for a low back surgery. Fortunately, a good friend who was going to New York Chiropractic College at the time suggested he come in for a consultation and exam as “I could always go ahead with the surgery”. The explanation of my condition from the chiropractic perspective just made sense. I proceeded with a regimen of regular subluxation based chiropractic adjustments and the rest is so to speak, history.

Has it been a smooth road?
At first I had to find a location to drop anchor, so to speak. I remember the Buckhead community just felt right and for several months I looked. Finally, I thought, a location presented itself and when I was on my way to sign the agreement I came across another building. Fortunately, I was able to buy that opportunity and build my practice at that same location I am in today.

As with any start up business the challenges are always getting the public’s attention. I’ve always enjoyed the personal connection so in contrast to media advertising I hit the ground running with community participation. The Buckhead Business Association, Buckhead Rotary, active sports involvement at Lifetime Fitness and The Forum and being involved in the Georgia Chiropractic Association. These great organizations and the friendships that developed were how I got my practice going. I fortunately can now say at 24+ years the journey has been a wonderful one.

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Chiropractic Healthcare of Buckhead story. Tell us more about the business.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Healthy lifestyle habits are clearly being embraced worldwide as just making sense. For several generations, the public had bought into the media advertising of The Big Food and Pharmaceutical industry. That approach has led us the healthcare crisis we are faced with today. Food labels that are challenging to read and an ever increasing vaccination and drug therapy approach has the public reeling. For all the best advise they ever got was hopefully from responsible parents.

1. Sit and stand up straight
2. Eat your fruits and vegetables
3. Go outside and play
4. Get rest when tired
5. Positive mental attitude.

I see the chiropractors who promote by walking and talking this advice to their patients flourishing and the patients thriving.
