Meet Bryant Grant of B Tha Legend in Dunwoody

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryant Grant.

Bryant, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I grew up with both parents until my mother was diagnosed with Cancer in 1997. I was forced to be the man of the house. My life changed the morning of February 5, 1998. I received a phone call that my mother passed away. It was that moment I knew God was testing me and molding me into the man I needed to be.

I graduated high school on June 5, which was my mother’s birthday. Without many college offers on the table and living with my elderly grandmother who suffered from illnesses of her own, once again, I was forced to be the man of the house.

I did what any lost young man who had to provide at this age would do, and I turned to the streets. My strong relationship with God kept me protected and grounded through it all. I told myself that I had to get out. I moved to Orlando, Florida in 2007, searching for new beginnings. I attempted college while working overnight security for the University of Central Florida.

Faced with some adversities, I had to move back to Fort Lauderdale. I spent one year sleeping on the floor at a relative’s home. Having no car, job or goals, it was time for a change. I was hired by a major retail company working in the stockroom. I worked hard for six months and purchased my first car. In the interim, my work ethic was noticed by top managers which landed me a promotion into men’s fashion working with multiple celebrities and building a solid clientele.

Two years later, I was promoted again and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. While living in a new city, the roads were not easy. Atlanta taught me a lot. I truly gained a love for fashion. A gained a new passion after helping a group of troubled youth prepares for job interviews.

My new mission is to help those who feel the road is too tough or do not see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not always been easy. Moving to Atlanta was a big jump from Florida. Being a family-oriented person and having to make a decision to leave them behind was one of the hardest decisions I had to make. I knew in order for me to prosper, I had to step out on faith. Knowing that I did not have a safety net to depend on, I leased my first apartment. In result, I did not have any other option but to succeed. Atlanta threw some curveballs at me within the first year of living here. My ten-year relationship came to an end, which was one of the most difficult times I endured. Like most people moving to Atlanta, I was lured into the infamous party life, attending the best nightclubs and entertainment scenes. I describe this as being like a drug addiction, the party lifestyle to which, I lost focus on all of the important things such as working hard at succeeding in my career, my family and goals.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the B Tha Legend story. Tell us more about the business.
B Tha Legend was inspired from all of the adversities I had to deal with in life. When you think of “Legend”, you think of someone who has faced, conquered and achieved life’s struggles.

I specialize in fashion blogging and styling, public speaking and relationship mentoring. I am known for my fun, edgy, but yet creative sense of fashion. I am also known for my positive inspiration, inspiring men and women to believe in themselves. Sometimes, life knocks you down, but we need that extra push from someone who has been there in order to keep us motivated.

Launching my website www.bthalegend.com was the proudest moment of not only my business but my life.

Unlike most people in my profession, I wasn’t born into fashion or a perfect life. Fashion was never a passion of mine or being a better man. After you face so many different obstacles, life becomes your best teacher. As a bonafide hustler, with the mentality of never giving up on myself, “I am at my best when I am at my worst”. I’ve done it all from cutting concrete, detailing cars to now being in Corporate America, proves to me that nothing is off limits and that at any moment, your comfort level can change.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’ve had my share of bad luck throughout my life. From heartbreak, death, and unemployment are things that I have no interest in dealing with anytime soon.

Good luck has been my best friend at this moment, lol. I received an email from VoyageATL about being in a feature. Either God was shining down on me or somebody was rolling “7’s” all night.
