Meet Buckhead Entrepreneur & Creative: Corey Reese

Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Reese.

Corey, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Funny enough, my story I’m sure will be a lot different than most. My dream growing up was never anything to do with the entertainment industry, it was to play Professional Football. I earned a full scholarship out of high school, started as a true freshman in college but didn’t make it to the NFL. It wasn’t until after I finished college after my 4 years with a degree in Computer Information Systems that joking deciding to give modeling a try. A close friend of mine said if we didn’t make it to the league you would see us in the magazines, billboards, etc. He was tragically killed our senior year of school and it just me that set off to make something happen. It wasn’t long before my path leads me to billboards in times square, Cosmopolitan 50 sexist Bachelors Issue, Other magazine features, the today show, Regis and Kelly and so much more. I picked up the camera once again not expecting to become a photographer, as a matter of fact, I didn’t even call myself a photographer, it was Model With A Camera because I felt that’s what I was at the time, just a model expressing himself with the camera. Little did I know, that was the calling that allowed me to walk away from my corporate job in 2008 to pursue photography and video production full time. I have been blessed to have my work on the other side of the lens featured as well on TV, billboards, magazines and more. It has been a fun ride as I continue to evolve with now over 16,000 students enrolled in my courses online learning photography. It’s funny how we start all about us, but in the end, it’s about the impact you can make in the lives around you. I started CoreyReese.com where I offer advice to other entrepreneurs while helping build their dreams to 6 figures and beyond.

Has it been a smooth road?
Smooth Road? Far from it but it’s those moments that make you stronger, helps you grow to new heights. It’s been times working for myself, where my bank account was negative and the next month hit over $20k in a month.

What role has luck had in your life and career?
Luck? Not at all, I would say Purpose, because nothing to me has been by chance, but everything to do with exploring the talents and gifts I have been blessed with.

Is there a quality or characteristic that has played an outsized role in your success?
The most important quality to my success is knowing what I wanted to create. That’s the driving force that allows you to step into new areas of your life. If you have no intention of driving to New York, you will never think to look up and find maps to guide you. Same thing with life once you know where you want to go, the road maps will lead you to your destination.

Tell us about your favorite and least favorites things about our city.
Being Born and Raised in GA, funny enough not sure what I like best lol. As for what I like least is the fact that traffic is getting crazy in the middle of the day which is starting to remind me of LA where traffic is crazy 24/7.
