Meet Buckhead and Westside Artist: Teague & Hashim

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teague & Hashim.

Ice Rain Productions was formed in 2014, initially as a venture in pooling resources, but quickly developed into an art collective with a distinct vision of reviving the local art scene across different media. Originally a short-term photography collaboration, (Teague had a camera and Hashim had a computer) adding additional members to the collective led to more ambitious endeavors. Now Ice Rain dabbles in a little bit of everything, from film and video to music, but promoting local interest in Fine Art Photography is still a foundational principle.

Has it been a smooth road?
“Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.” ― Theodore Roosevelt

There have been plenty of difficulties along the way, but nothing we haven’t been able to learn from, and ultimately benefit from.

What were you like growing up?
Hashim: I was alone a lot, so confronting my thought processes was an early adaptation to make. Art and the beauty of things were naturally something around which my thoughts coalesced.

Teague: Growing up I always had a knack for coming up with things myself. I taught myself to play music, make movies and construct a variety of things, all of which have continued to influence my style of work to this day.

Is there a specific memory from when you were younger that you really miss?
Hashim: When I was young, I remember receiving a gift; model solar system, which I painted myself. The opportunity to paint these planets myself, and color and construct them in my own vision was a euphoric creation experience.
