Bujar, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My brother and I started in the restaurant business as teenagers. We lived and worked in numerous European countries, with the majority of the time spent in Italy. Once we moved and settled in Atlanta, we made Peachtree City and Newnan our home, which is when we decided to open our restaurants.
Has it been a smooth road?
Every new business has challenges. The restaurant business is even more challenging because of the many choices consumers have, so you have to be on your game all the time, every time. Fortunately, we are passionate about creating beautiful and unique experiences for our customers, and we are intimately involved in every aspect of the restaurant. This has been the formula for our success.
Compounded to all the complexities of running a restaurant, COVID has really changed things. I mean, how do you not socialize when the entire meaning of going out to eat with your family and friends is to spend time together and enjoy the company. Like everyone else, we have adapted and will continue to adapt to stay in business and keep creating those unique experiences for our customers.

Positano Pizza Napoletana is an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant based in Peachtree City and Newnan, GA. We serve pizzas, salads, antipasti, gelato, espresso, and desserts. We also feature premium Italian wines, beers and spirits. Positano Pizza Napoletana is an authentic Neapolitan pizza restaurant.
Unique about Positano is the way pizzas are sourced, made and baked. We take pride in serving customers the freshest and most authentic ingredients imported directly from Italy on a weekly basis. From the 00 flour that creates the airy, classic crust to the flavorsome mozzarella di bufala and fresh fior di latte cheeses, and the world-class San Marzano tomatoes, the pizzas are ripe with exceptional flavor and authenticity. Simple and delicious, Positano pizza reflects the true tastes of Italy. There is no better way to convince a person that this is the best pizza they have ever had than by trying it.
Indeed, all ingredients are imported from Italy – the flour, tomatoes, sausage, cheeses, olive oil, etc. So are the ovens. Positano uses two Acunto wood-fired, volcanic stone ovens built in Naples.
Both pizzas and salads are made in front of the customers. In fact, pizzas are baked in just 90 seconds in 900-degree ovens! The ovens and the pizza making are the stars and entertainment.
The décor is industrial, mid-century, with hints of Italian design. Seating is community style, meaning you sit where space is available, allowing you to make friends with strangers while listening to Italian music and watching the pizza making.
We are proud of the community we have built both in Newnan and Peachtree City. We don’t refer to our customers as customers. We call them our guests. We love our guests and they love us! At the end of the day, everything is about the human connection. We were raised with the saying “the house belongs to the guest,” and that’s what we live by today.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
I think COVID will have a lasting impact on the restaurant business. You will see more and more outdoor seating, umbrellas, patios, awnings, etc., which will result in American streets looking more like European streets. You will also see takeout business increasing to as much as 50%, which has implications on design, space configurations, lease negotiations, parking requirements, checkout workflow, etc.
